I saw on golfsmiths website that there are regular pro v's and also high numbers. Anyone know the difference?

The boxes either have sleeves of 1-2-3-4 or 5-6-7-8.

Anybody know the difference between these and the 2010's? Better feel around the greens with better spin off the driver is what I would guess the tag line would be, but that is just a guess.

New core for softer feel and more spin from both balls. Even with spin they have added distance from new dimple design that flies further and slightly higher. That is what I gathered from people testing on various boards.

Both have more spin around greens, durable cover from previous models.

Aside from what they say.. I haven't found the cover on the ProV1 model to be that much better, but it does last. A new groove will put a mark on it, but my old ones didn't. I think it's a good step and some player may find it better than others.

Both are higher ball flight. X being lower of the two, with less spin. Keep in mind that also accounts for less side spin too.

Overall, I'm a ProV1x player, who's used the new ProV1, and I liked it.. Will get a dozen of the X's to try this weekend and make my decision if I should go new, or keep the older X's I like still.

I hit the new ProV1x this weekend after receiving a few at the PGA Merchandise show. I also played with a Walker Cup player and both of us found they spin a great deal more than the previous model. The ball also went a great deal higher. We both were not a big fan of the new ball. The ball will not be a good fit for players who spin the ball a great deal.

Realy found a big difference between last years and the 2011 Pro V1. There are 40 less dimples which results in lower driver spin. Really like the new Pro V1. Didn't really see that big of a difference with the new Pro V1x from last, but maybe just don't compress them enough to see a difference. Will stick with Pro V1.

I have had the test X's for a while but have only tried them a little bit. I noticed the biggest difference in short half-wedge shots - they launched AND spun higher. It felt like it spun slightly more all around to combat the new grooves. I tried one with my driver, but made a terrible swing and it snap-hooked. They may be a little more durable; however, I did make a mistake - first shot with one of the new balls was with my brand new 2009 version Vokey. NOT cool.
