I recently purchased the 3H 19 degree baffler. Wow. I now know what people mean when they talk about clubs that feel as if the ball is flying off the face. This club truly is a great, versatile and aesthetically pleasing hybrid that as got me thinking about the 17 degree as well. There is a good amount of forgiveness but the ability to work the ball isn't compromised.

Love it! Got a 19 degree 3h. Love the Fuji Motore shaft, weight distribution is nice. I'm a high hc, and found it was easy to get in the air and had good distance. A couple of slices when I tried to kill it, but that's not the clubs fault.

I needed to replace my MacGregor 3H and 4H in regular flex with something in stiff. My MacGregors were about 6-7 years old, and the new ones I tested had a weird shaft vibration , but flew well enough. I also hit the Adams SuperS hybrid and the Cobra Baffler TRail. The Cobras were the easiest to hit, work the ball, and mishits travelled the same distance . The Adams were not as forgiving, but close. I've played a few rounds with the Cobras and hit some phenomenal shots. 195 yards , downwind I normally hit the 4H about 180. This flew high and straight , landing pin high, and then bounced over. Amazing .

I recently got an F9 21 degree hybrid to replace my TM.

I had read on some web review that the baffler rail was too deep and didn't get a good feedback from the person who was testing it.

Just using it quickly at the range and to chop a few chip and runs from divots and short rough, i really like it. I love the sound of the club face against the ball, it sounds very "tinny" or "pingy" I'm not sure whether the rails play a part in that or if it's only the face.

Hope to try it out for real on the course tonight. I don't want to make too much use of it yet, since it's only on loan while the store ships me the correct shaft version. I expect the rails will really help to launch the ball from the rough.

I have the F8 4 & 5 hybrids and absolutely love it. My old Nike set has a 3H and I couldn't hit it to save my life. These are the exact opposite and my new favorite club to break out of the bag this past season.

I rented a set that included the Cobra F7 hybrid at Tierra del Sol in Aruba a couple years ago. I think it was about an 18 degree loft, but I can't recall for sure. This is a nice course and the rental rate was pretty steep, so I was surprised at the general condition of the clubs. Despite being fairly new clubs with no more than a season or so of wear, there was just a ton of dings, rust, etc., present on everything save for the driver and putter. I guess sea spray, the hot sun, etc., all age clubs much more quickly. In any event, I've always struggled with getting steep and digging. With irons it usually just means a big divot, but with a hybrid or fairway wood it can mean a chunk or top. When I warmed up, I think I just hit a few drivers, couple 7is, and then some wedge shots. Hybrids can literally be hit or miss for me, so I didn't even bother on the range. The first hybrid I hit on the course was just as solid as I've ever hit one. I ended up hitting hybrid as often as made sense. I don't think I ever had bad contact, and the distance and carry was as consistent as I'd ever been. I liked that club so much that I took a bunch of photos of the club (just the hybrid) to make sure I could remember the make, model, and loft, as I wanted to put it in my bag at home.

I really think for a mid/higher handicap player the rails can mitigate a lot of issues. I'm not sure what if any affect the rails have on the club face but I really was hitting consistently straight that round which was not usual for me at that time. It really did feel like the rails helped smooth out fatter shots, which really helped my contact. I was going to buy an F7 hybrid, but I ended up getting handed down a TM rocketballz hybrid that I still game. I hit it pretty well, but it's getting old and I'm due for new irons as well. When it's finally safe enough for me to go get fitted for a new set, I'm definitely going to try out the Cobra hybrids and fairway woods. If you're a digger, you should really give the rails a swing.
