Nice, how do you tell the diffrence between the gw and pw?

Thanks. I'm extremely meticulous about the club placement in my bag, but if someone was jacking w/me and switched them, it'd be pretty easy to tell because they have different shafts. The one I use as a gap wedge has a DG S300 and the one included in my set has a Rifle.

I just added a back up driver. It's a Nike Sasquatch 9.5 Tour. The club was sitting in my closet w/plastic until I decided to put it to use. It came stock w/the Pro Launch X-Flex. The shaft is not a good match for me, so I had a UST V2 76 gram S-Flex installed tipped 1/2" 45" total length. I've hit two balls w/it so far. I plan on taking it to the range to compare both of my drivers.

 

I also finally had my 3-wood reshafted w/a UST V2 86 gram tour spec shaft. Specs are 1" tipped w/43.5" total length.

 

While picking up my newly reshafted club, I was browsing around Golfsmith and discovered a new Nike wedge that just came out on the market. It's the Nike SV Tour. As my old picks show, I used a PW bent to a 51* gap wedge. I decided to try this new SV Tour and man what a great wedge. I used it twice in yesterdays round and hit it within 7' both times from 110-115 yds. Ball control and spin was top notch w/this club. I'm considering the 56* and 60* now.

Well once again I upgraded or made another change. Change has been often lately, but I finally think I'm done. I just won this set on ebay. It's a set of Nike Pro Combo Tour 3-PW w/DGS300 shafts. They could have been sold as new. Most clubs don't even appear to have been hit. This is the first time I have enough clubs to have two separate bags. I've officially been hit with the equipment buying bug.

That's the new Nike SV Tour. I'm very pleased with it. I'm considering the 56* and 60* in the same model. They just hit the market a couple of weeks ago. Retail is $89 at Golfsmith.

Thanks. I'm not sure I'll ever betray Ping putters. I love my current putter, which replaced a stainless Ping Anser 2 that I had for over 10 years.

I ordered a 58* SV Tour wedge from Golfsmith. The only problem is it won't ship until Nov. 9th. Apparently they don't stock the 58* :cheesy: When I get that, I will eliminate the 56* and 60* wedges that are in my bag now and will get to use my 2 iron again. :drinks:

one question... i keep seeing the term "tipped"... what exactly does that mean in relation to a shaft...?

The shaft is cut at the tip (hence the word "tipped") to make it play stiffer. When someone says their club is tipped 1", that means the shaft was cut 1" at the tip prior to install. Once the shaft is installed, the butt is cut to final length.

Niice, those wedges look so good in person, the finish is great, and there not expensive too. Good set! Man that club set up just looks soo odd, I dont think Ill ever get used to people doing it like that.

I just can't get used to having the woods cover my irons in the woods higher type set up w/a stand bag. Especially with the new 460cc heads w/headcover. I had it set up the other way and had to search for an iron. I switched it within seconds and like this club set up much better.

 

The V2 is great in both woods. The only thing I'm able to compare the V2 in the fairway wood is the stock Sasquatch-Diamana, which was crap IMO. I rarely hit my 3 wood (2 times a round avg.), but when I do it feels and performs great. I'm hoping the new SUMO2 will have the V2 as a shaft option. I've debated getting a 905R w/V2 just because of the shaft, but I just can't get away from the SWOOSH :)

As much as I hate to say it, I just haven't had any time to play golf lately. I've been working my arse off since I bought the putter and haven't played a round since. I have gone to the practice range once and used it to putt around for about 15 minutes. The feel is great, but it will take a little time to build my confidence to a comfortable level.

 

The swoosh face was a fun idea. It will usually wear off in a couple holes though.

how do you like the bag. i have around $180 that i got for my b-day and i cant decide whether to get the xtreme sport stand bag or the sv tour wedges.

The bag is great. It functions real well, has plenty of pockets and looks good. It works well as a cart bag too. It was $100 at Golfsmith. You can find SV Tour wedges on ebay for great prices. I would look there for the wedges. I got my 58° shipped for $70. If you do some searching, you may be able to get the bag and 1 wedge for $180-$190 tax and shipping included.
