Scotty Question

Recommended Posts

Alright, Just want to know where everyone gets those scotty camerons with all the little details, dots, symbols, different finishes etc.. I was looking through the scotty cameron picture topic and saw some of the collections you guys had and really want to purchase a scotty like those. Hopefully you guys know what im talking about, not the ones off the shelf at golf stores but the ones with customs designs, paintfills and finishes. I know some people spend thousands on ebay and some other putter sites but I was curious on how i could pimp out a circa 62.

Thanks

Hey Gligster,

It all depends on what you are looking for. What finish are you talking about:

1)Gun Blue

2)Black Oxide

3)Copper

4)PP

5)Black Pearl

6)Black Pearl Mist

7)3x Oilcan

8)Coal Star

As for the different stamps. The following stamps can be added to your putter by the custom shop for $30.00 Each. The custom shop stamp is included when you change the finish to PP.

1)Custom Shop Stamp

2)Yin Yang Stamp

3)Cameron Money

The other stamps are mainly on tour putters and you dish out some big bucks $1000 and up. These stamps include:

1)Scotty Dog

2)Scotty Bull Dog

3)Pooping Scotty

4)Retro Stamp

5)Smiley Face

6)Putter Man

7)Peace Sign

And on and on.

The only finish you can change the finish to by the custom shop is PP. However, if you are not worried about it being authentic, you can send your putter to an aftermarket service such as Slighter Golf, Kevin Colbert or BOS and they will change the finish. Say you have a gun blue and you want oil can or Black Oxide or Nickel Plated. On a stainless putter though all you can change it to is 3x Black

Look on ebay and also on our site www.cameroncollector.com You should be able to find one to your liking.

Hopefully this answers your question.

A circa putter Looks great in an OC finish as well as a Satin Nickel. I think Sam has some pics of his Circa 62 #1 he had redone by BOS. Let me see if I can find some pics of my Old Circa 62 #2 I had Kevin Colbert do a satin nickel finish on.

Here some pics of the Circa 62 #2 he did for me:

yeah i would love to get something like that done to my putter. I would love to get a new finish on it aswell as custom paintfills. Do you have any contact information, website or anything for these guys. How much did it cost you to have that done? How long does it take to get it done?

Also would they be able to do anything like a restoration or anything on an older scotty that i have?

Thanks Guys

Shoot him an e-mail. His website is www.putterplating.com That one cost me I think $60.00 total Extra sanding would be an additional $10.00 His phone number is (612) 386-6414 and his e-mail is [email protected]. Just tell him Chris Hoeppner recommended him. The price for the refinish includes any paintfill you want as well as return shipping. Take a look at his site. He can do some resto. He also does custom engravings, and all that as long as it does not make it where the putter appears to be a tour putter. Total time for mine was 30 days exactly.

yeah i no i could probably learn how to do the paintfill and everything but i really wanted to get my initials/name engraved and hopefully have it refinished because my scotty is a mess. Will they be capable of making my putter look new if it has scratches, dings, and every other little mark you can think of on it?

Yeah Kevin cando that, or go ahead and spend the money to send it to the custom shop. There you can get your initials stamped, refinish the putter to brand new condition with a new PP finsih. Custom shop stamp, and I'd go with the yin yang stamp. That is one of my favorites. You won't hurt the resale either and you can get a A rating COA. I had one, A circa 62 #1 I had the custom shop do. It was beat up from here to hell when I found it, but sent it in, they restored it, add the PP finish, the Cameron Money Stamp, the Yin Yang Stamp and the Custom shop stamp. I sold it to one of my friends for $450.00 Kevin and Tom can both do it for a little less, but it would get a C coa and BOS will not remove the scratches and dings.

Both putters I sent to BOS were in great shape. The Circa 1 was new and the Cleveland Designed by Ben Crenshaw had very few (but light) dings on the face, none on the top line or flange.

so everyone on here pays that much for theres?? i see some people on here with at least 10 pimped out scottys?? Does that mean there dropping like 30-40 grand for 10 putters?

Also with the Circa 62 if I were to buy one from golf town or somewhere is it possible to keep the finish how it is without it rusting because ive seen a few friends whos started to rust.

Thanks

P.S Any chance you wanna sell me that circa 62 choeppner?

That ones already sold. LOL Now by Pimped out, are you talking Regular OTR's that have been refinished, or Putters with the Special Stamps and all that. The Circa 62 will do just fine as long as you keep it oiled. Thats why I suggested a PP finsih on it.

If you are meaning Pimped out by describing just a change in finish, that is a cheap way to do it. I was figureing you wanted something like say a NP with a BP finish and custom stampings like the CT, Scotty Dog, Retro Stamp ETC ETC ETC.

at this point im not being to greedy. I have no putter and im leaving for california soon to golf so i would really like a scotty before then.. I like the look of the circa #2 and i think the studio design makes something similar. any chance you could help me get a scotty for decently cheap i really am not worried about the finish or w.e right now as i can do that when i get back.

thanks

I've seen a couple. Let me know about what style you are looking for and i will post a WTB thread for you, or you may be able to do it yourself. Under 200 you are looking at a used Circa or a Newport PP, or a Laguna GB or PP, or the Studio styles or studio stainless. We also have alot of members up in canada so they could help you as well.

I'm calling it a night now though. Dang tired and half tipsy. LOL
