Ping Faith Putter

Its nothing special but i'm curious

Hi

I have just picked up this little Ping putter. Well I think it’s a Ping putter

It’s not listed on the ping site under the classic section and to be honest that’s what attracted me to it. I haven’t seen many about and after trawling through search engines and these forums I still no nothing about it. All I know is it’s faced balanced with Isopur on the shaft band.

I have seen quite a few of them but I have never seen one that shiny they are usually a dark brown color.

Someone must have polished that one. I t looks pretty good. I think it was out around the time of the isopur first came out.

 

Check here on the Ping website. Select Isopur series. All you get is a pic. It would be better if they would list specs.

It had a little patina on it but i thought i would give it a little polish. When i get a used Ping i generally give them a clean and then leave them to discolour over time.

 

From the look of it i don't think it has ever been used, i would imagine its bronze or brass but i don't know. There are no serial numbers and its not really a classic Ping look. But it feels softer than my Becu putter.

 

I do wish the Ping site had info about production runs, weight and general available to and from dates, although i understand that some classic putters can still be made. i have tried the Knowledge base on the Ping site and it returns no results.

 

I like my Ansers so i just think i will settle for having an odd looking Ping mallet style putter in my little collection. i don't have that many but i think this is the most strange.

The Faith was released with the Nellie and the Bergen when the Ping Isopurs first came out... how many of us remember any of those either? Regardless, the polish looks bling bling... enjoy it!

unfortunately I remember the first isopur putters. I had a ally isopur. The insert was so soft it was hard to get any type of consistency with distance. I was all over the place with that putter. I have not had an insert putter since.

Ah, got it... I speak from experience. I had the birght :drinks: idea of refinishing my Callaway Tuttle putter. Got it nice and shiny. Took it out once and realized what I had done. It now sits in the basement, 10 years after it's "refinishing" with a green painted surface.
