There has been a ton of hype around these shafts, since last summer basically. I was one of the ones who was closely paying attention as well, and I'm excited to see how the full review pans out!

They look outstanding. Pair them with a nice set of satin irons (Ping Ansers) and I'd be set. Can't wait to hear more thanks for sharing.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Anyone know if the shaft is coated with anything to prevent rust? I assume it isn't chrome plated but not sure. Something must keep these from rusting as the chemicals from the course might cause some spots that chrome would normally prevent. Thinking about sanding a KBS hybrid shaft for a DIY satin look.

For those that remember (we're talking 2002) the original PX (now termed PX satins)
After being in your bag for couple months or more, the shafts would have a swirl effect :)
You could really see the finish on the club wearing off and when looking closely, it looked like a swirl. Well at least to me it did
Which is one of the reasons why TT decided to chrome them.

But nonetheless, KB is back.
Whats the report Metalhead. Still finding that 10th hotspot?

Everybody relax, I’m here

What was the finish on the PX satins? Was it almost a clearcoat paint type finish? Is the swirling you mention a spiderweb effect that can happen on paint if it is scratched with abrasives.

As much as I want to Spill it right now about these shafts, I'm going to actually get some course experience before I do...hitting off mats just doesn't cut for a proper Golfwrx review, so hopefully in the next day or so I'll be able to give a detailed review-

desaille (btw...what the heck does your screen name mean?...I have always wondered, well not really but it sounded nice;)...we already covered the 10th spot bro! I heard its now you that covers that top spot now:)

Josh - was reading the thread today and talking with desaille about the original satin PX, in particular how stiff they were. I almost want to say that you had a set of 6.0s and they were on the stiff side?

I have to admit how nice these look. Even not being installed in the kbs box the are just sexy. They would look nice with red IOmics ;)

What are these equivalent stiffness to in regards to the ProjectX 5.5, 6.0, 6.5. Is it S, S+, XS? I'm looking to try these out and was recently on a launch monitor and PX 6.0 seemed to be the right fit, what would be equivalent.
In looking at the material I have and talking to the reps, you should like the S+... possible for feel that you'd be comfortable with the S, though. If you were fitted for a different shaft & these claim to be lower launch and spin, then the results might not be comparable. This makes me think that the S might be good, a S+ on an already low launch shaft might be too much. Depends what your ball flight is and what you are looking for. just my .02

Also I'm bored cause It snowed here in Michigan and we won't be playing for another week...

Yu know... I'm not feeling the satin finish. I like the look of the traditional steel shafts.

I'de love to try em tho. I bet they are just fantastic.

Mini review added!! :welcomeani:

So you're getting lower launch, more of a "dead" feel, and more distance (how much?) than PX 6.5?

Will you add comparison to DGX100 for reference for those of us who are more familiar with DGs, please? :)

Until I get on Trackman I can't say exactly on any of the specific numbers, but I would agree its like KBS stated 5% on all fronts. Yes I will try and throw some DG into the mix...The feel is lively just very refined...certainly not dead.

nice review.

are these alot different than regular KBS Tours?
I don't have alot of experience with the Reg. KBS Tours, but I have hit them and the C-tapers feel uniquely different from the Tour, lower spin and lower ballflight.

How did these shafts compare in stiffness to TT DGX100?

Are these S or S+?
As stated in the review these are S+ :busted2: , and stiffness wise they feel pretty close to both the PX 6.5 and X100 in my hands..

That's interesting, as initial information I was given said that S+ should be about 6.0 on the rifle scale. I guess these have a firmer feel than the KBS Tours. Looking forward to getting mine. Keep the feedback coming.
