Been fortunane to travel to most of the places you mentioned....alot depends on how much you want to spend and how far you want to travel.

Orlando is not bad. Myrtle and Pinehurst may have a weather issue depending on how early in April you're headed there.

Kiawah is probably my favorite. You can get a condo (w/kitchens) on a course for the whole group and watch the alligators roam at night. The Ocean Course is the most enjoyable course I've played and there are several others there that are worthwhile. Charleston is a great city with great food and sights about 25 miles away. Weather may be a bit cool but should be ok. The Ocean Course gets lots of pub and many future major events and it's kind of cool to see how your game compares.

Depending on how much you like golf, I would highly recommend the Trent Jones Trail. For the past 7 of 8 years, a group from my club drives there and takes in 2 or 3 sites over the course of six days. You can fly into Birmingham and travel from there but the courses are great, the people outstanding and the accomdations/food can be whatever you'd like them to be. LPGA plays in Mobile each year...Nationwide tour goes to Montgomery for their championship and the NCAA likes to hit Auburn every few years. Two or three courses at every town and driving to each is part of the fun although you could stay in one place and play there for three days. The cost can't be beat.

Albuqurque is a pretty good choice for that time of year as well. Several really good public/daily fee courses, good weather and you can hit Santa Fe for great food, culture and sights if you'd like.

One last consideration might be San Diego. The weather will be great and they have some wonderful courses including an upcoming Open venue. Pricing may be a bit higher than some of the others but you probably won't have to worry about your trip being shortened by rain or cold temps.

If you want to gamble on the weather then Myrtle Beach could be considered I suppose.

If you want a better chance of good weather then San Diego edges out Myrtle Beach. But be aware of the traffic in San Diego. It's BAD during rush hour. Rush hour usually lasts from 4:00AM until about 7:00PM. :)

But, if you want a 99.99% guarantee on the weather in an area that's hands down the best golf destination in the US, then look no further than Palm Springs, Ca.

That time of year will be absolutely gorgeous. You'll be playing golf in 75 degree weather, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Best golf scenery I've ever experienced.

Myrtle Beach should be fine in late April...60's to low 70's, maybe better. Lot's of choices for golf, food, nightlife, everything. If you plan ahead, you can put together a great package. Try www.EatDrinkSleepGolf.com for a package deal. I don't work there, have never used them, and have no affiliation with them. They're helping plan a potential trip on another board and he seems really helpful.

Myrtle has an airport (small), and is approximately a 3 hour drive from Raleigh/Durham Int'l.

Pinehurst will have similar weather as Myrtle, +- 5 degrees or so. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive from RDU. Your costs will go up some, there are fewer courses (but all are great, and still plenty of choices), and the nightlife will be much less. Still, it's Pinehurst and everyone who loves golf should play #2 at least once in life.

I live 1/2 hour from Pinehurst and we have a family home in N. Myrtle Beach. I'd highly recommend either of these locations.

Hope this helps!
