I love the look of these at address. have a x tour 52 like its performance also had a 58 but the MD grooves shred balls on almost every shot. has anyone played the 'cc' version of these? maybe it's a good solution for spin/ball scuff trade off.

Bought a couple of these last week while they were on special at SA. Finally played a round with them, and first impressions are hot and cold. These wedges can make even a cheap two-piece ball stop on the green very quickly. I'm used to playing a little bit of roll out, but the MD grooves made that impossible. I'm gonna have to spend some time on a range hitting some sandy balls to take a little bit of aggressiveness out of them. I loved that they were reliable in that sense though. It allowed me to play pitch shots closer to the pin in terms of landing spots. However, I think I chewed up a good 6-8 golf balls with these. Anything off the green or from inside 100 (I have the 52 and 60) was like taking a razor to the ball cover. Funniest thing was peeling off a hexagonal dimple from a Cally ball when I went to putt.

Great wedges, just watch out for shredding covers with them.

As a newbie these comments are so useful. I just bought what went with the rest of my clubs. Now, reading your comments, I realise one of the reasons that I've been struggling to get the ball to carry forward to the hole.

It's coming along and I'm getting it to happen but it's taken a while because of my inexperience but I didn't realise they weren't normal.

Had a 52 and a 58, both MD. Felt nice, but could not afford to keep buying golf balls so I got rid of them. They would chew them up even on pitches.

I have a 50 CC and 60 MD. Got them both used, so the MD won't eat covers as bad. They feel better than the X Tour wedges from a couple years ago. With the new MD grooves on that 60, I was peeling the cover off of range balls. The feel is great on these clubs, both CC and MD. I'm sure functionally they're about the same as all others.

These are without a doubt the highest spinning wedges out there, nothing chews through pro v pills like these bad boys. More bite than a fat chick chomping on tim tams.

I've always gamed Clevelands until I bought these jaws... I don't spin the ball nearly as much with these jaws as my old clevelands... I'm not sure why

The MD grooves are the bomb! They just bite stop and suck back, no golf ball has a chance with these. The biggest spinning wedges ever.

Arent the MD grooves non-conformin?
