Miura, Cameron, Titleist, Yonex, & Scratch

My WITB thread is always under construction!!! Last update 1/23/2016 :read:

I currently have a few sets;

1. My primary "gamer" bag. This is the bag that I grab the vast majority of the time when I'm heading to the course.
2. A secondary bag of "backups". I use these clubs to test new shafts, grips and the like. When I'm not playing around with gear, these are setup identically to my primary bag and get rotated in from time to time.
3. Hogan Precision Blades with KBS Tour V's. Yep, 1950's Hogan classics with modern shafts. They're really a great set up.
4. My "highschool irons". Yep, I still have my irons from highschool (classic, square groove, PING Eye2's). These make it out to the course for at least one round every year and I hope that my kids will be able to play, and appreciate them as I did, someday in the future.

I also have a few clubs that, depending on course/conditions/etc, I will rotate in from time to time. The "top of my bag" (long irons and fairway woods) has been somewhat volatile.

All of my Miura irons/wedges contain conforming grooves as do the Mizuno wedges. My Scratch wedges, on the other hand, are non-conforming. As a result, the Scratch wedges don't see the course much.

My putters are all Scotty Cameron Newports and I've got a multitude of (very similar) choices. See above for the details.

At the moment I'm very happy with all of my equipment. Although, I'm always open to a few changes (aren't we all). My list is getting pretty short though.

1. Add a Scotty Cameron Classic I and a (stamped) 009 to the Cameron collection
2. More from LaMont!

Before anybody asks, yes, I do game each and every one of them and yes, I do my own painfill. My primary gamer is the MA/66 but I use the Super Rat, Deep Milled TeI3 and Tour Rat quite a bit as well. Even though I love the Rats, the feel of a deep milled TeI3 is very hard to beat. With all of the putters at roughly the same length/weight and all sporting similar grips, it's very easy to transition from one to the next.

Here is a quick picture of my first "real" driver. Real, as in, brand name. This is the first driver that I ever purchased with my own money (thank you countless paper route deliveries). I actually bought the head from a friend of mine for a whopping $20 and had a shaft and grip put on for another $25. Not a bad investment at the time. I went on to win a number of tournaments with this driver in hand.

Absolutely gorgeous bag(s), especially the custom Miura blades. Love it. The driver and 3 wood are SO solid too - on that note, how does the Code 8 play? I would LOVE to play it. I've more than enjoyed the smooth feeling of my Altus Hybrid.

 

The star of the show to me is the Scotties. Wow - STUNNING. Love the paint schemes! I would putt righty if you would give me one.

I really wish SC would have made the Buttonback in lefty - I would have ABSOLUTELY played it.

Thanks. I really like the red/white/blue combo as well. I did it on my Studio Select first and liked the look enough that I just had to do it to the Button Back.
