That´s a great collection of old Ping putters. I decided to start one myself not so long ago. I really hope some day my collection looks anywhere close to yours. :)

Cheers for the compliment, but If I'm honest I would have to say it never ever started out as a collection - they are all pretty much bought to be used in the never ending persuit to find the right stick and that includes all the Scottsdales that I have got together, they have all ventured onto the course at some point in time! Even now I struggle to come to terms with the fact that it may be regarded as a "collection".

 

The headcovers I'm really not sure when they came out, I have heard they were for the japanese market initially, I also have a couple of the Silver versions!

I managed to pick this up the other day and took it to the course with my eye 2 2 Iron (Red dot) today to see what noticable difference there was between the 2. I was really impressed with mp29, noticed it had a much higher flight to it than my Eye2 and equally as penetrating, have never hit the mp 29 irons before but this one has really have got me thinking.

 

Anyone notice the flight of the mp 29's to be higher than other irons?

Nice lookin club im a fan of the 2 iron, it fits my home course well especially the 240 yard par 3

Added pics of the new Byron 007x Rincon welded that I picked up from a fellow PT'er and I believe Golfwrx'er! Had to cut it down and re-grip it but is now looking and feeling like perfection........until it hit's the green grass that is, and with all this snow about could be a while....

Still ruing my decision to part with a mint Becu B60 and love the older Ping models and the headcovers.

 

Love the set-up in the bag with the 32s aswell. And topping it off the 1 iron in Becu. It doesnt get much better than that for me. Top stuff!!

B60 I dont get on with that head shape or neck shape to be honest have tried all sorts over teh years as I like the look of it from address just cant seem to putt with it tho!

Funny you mention the B60. I always loved it from it being my first putter to Faldo using one for a while.

 

I always thought the topline looked a bit thin so never really took to it when I got my Becu. But whenever I see one now it sets the heart racing!!

 

My other old favourite was a My Day. I have had 3 or 4 over the years but still have my original from 1988 that I wouldnt let go for the world.

Just picked up a set of old school Mizuno MP29's which are in really good condition will post some pics later...!

 

Jebb, After saying all that about the B60 a friend persuaded me to have a go with a shortened version of one, it's now in the bag!!!! Eeek!

 

The My Day I've never tried very similar to the Zing as I remember!

Been a little while since I last did an update so thought be easier (lazier) to carry on with my original WITB than start afresh!

This is pretty much it - After a trip to Ping factory in Gainborogh which gave me a good insight into shaft requirementsI now have a Ping G10 (did'nt like the I15/G15 as much) with Proforce V2 Stiff 65gm driver in 9 degree while the 3 wood is the Yonex nanospeed.

Irons - after threatening to reshaft the MP14's I bought I eventually got round to it (S300) and now they are price of place in the bag with a couple of Scratch wedges 53 and 58.

Putter is a C+L cut down to 33".

Would'nt say I have pulled up any trees with set up but it get's me around.
