What do you keep in your pockets when playing?

Recommended Posts

ONE black zero friction tee, the ball I am using (if in between holes), and my divot tool with ball marker clipped inside my back left pocket. Nothing else!

A pistol?!?!?!?!?!?

Sorry but if I had to playing at a course that my life was in jeopardy, I would find another course. - Thats crazy! / Good luck to you!

Anyway,

Left Pocket = a few tee's
Right Pocket = an extra ball (because I tend to loose a few :) ) and a lighter
[/quote]

I dont play that particular course very often, nor do I play any courses where it is likely to happen on a daily basis, but occasionally, I find myself at some seedy places (I have some friends and family that are cheap, and want to play cheap courses, which just happen to be munis in bad areas). I carry my pistol EVERYWHERE I am legally allowed to carry it, so it is just another place to me. If you think nothing can happen just because you are on a golf course, you are living in a bubble. I choose to expect the best, but be prepared for the worst.

Sounds like you may be talking about Gus Wortham or Brock Park. :)
I used to carry a SW 357 with a couple of rounds of rat shot in my golf bag. Not because of danger from humans on the golf course I usually played but because it was common to see rattlesnakes on the course.
I was playing there once in a 2 man scramble tournament and we were at the fartherest point from the clubhouse. One of the guys in the other 2some kept talking about waiting till we hear a shotgun for the shotgun start. I got tired of him balking at starting play so I pulled the pistol out of my bag and fired it into the brush. Scared the crap out of him. I said, a shot has been fired are you ready to play now? He kept repeating to his buddy..."He's got a gun, he's got a gun".

Seems to be a pretty even split as far as numerous items to just a few items in one's pocket. Personally I cannot stand having anything but the essentials in my pockets- a few tees, divot repair and a ball marker. Everything else, whether its my cell phone, wallet, Bushnell, or cigars (and lighterrolleyes.gif) are just a few steps away- just dont see the need to carry anything more. Nor do I find it very comfortable...

Divot tool, glove when not in use, 1 extra ball, and a couple tees in right rear. Score card and pencil in left rear. Nothing in the sides. I hang or put everything else on my bag. E-cig, cellphone, wallet, blah blah.

The course where the guys got robbed was indeed Brock. And yes, Gus Wortham is one of the others, as is Glenbrook. I dont particularly care for GW, but Glenbrook isnt a bad course, except for it's location.

I wont pull my pistol on a snake though , there is just no need for it. A wedge will do the trick nicely.
