How are you liking the Pro combo's? Great looking bag by the way!
I quite like them. Definitely not as soft feeling as the Mizuno's. I actually don't really notice too much of a difference between these in terms of flight. It's nice to have S300's again, they're like old friends!

The three and four are cool. Look like normal irons, and make a unique click when they're hit.

Doesn't really help the part of my game holding me back, chipping and pitching!

BIt of an update. I had been musing with Rustynuts (my brother) about the awkward 100m distance. I carry the set PW which is 47* then a 52 and 58. This was quite useful round my home course as there are some short par 4's and 5's. However there's a bit of a jump in the gaps between the wedge and 52. I hit the wedge around 110-115m but the 52 was around 90-95m, so have been left a few awkward ones lately where I'm inbetween. Trouble is if I hit a soft wedge, I just fly over the top of it and pull it long left. And hitting a 52 hard spins too much and can ballon a little.
So I turned 30 and low and behold, three new wedges. 50, 54, and 58. So dropped the three iron or 5 wood for the extra wedge.
The 50 is really useful actually. And all the grooves are thankfully non conforming so they check nicely.

WOW, haha, you need some help!!! How many sets of irons have you been through in 2011?
They go up pretty much as I get them. So I guess the Scratch irons were late last year? Or at the start, then Mizuno, then Nike, then Pings. Now these. However I swear if these don't last then I'm using a twenty year old set of Spalding Tour Edition blades....

At the end of the day, my ball striking ebbs and flows with the seasons (we play all year, but course gets wet in winter which means you can hold more greens and pitch straight at holes) but then in summer, you have much shorter shots into most holes.
My short game is dire, a good day is 50%,up and downs, I get near par when I hit 11 greens or so, but combined with spiys (using bellly with claw grip which has got my putts on greens to less than two, and usually around 32 putts) and a poor shot game has meant that if I don't hit the ball well I can be ten over.

But the irons feel nice, make a nice sound, and aren't any more difficult to hit, well apart from the SB1's which were hard, hard work.

wow, you must have too much time, and too much money... great swing btw, well positions are good lol
I don't know about money. As long as the clubs I sell are the current and the replacements just released it's not to bad. Definitely sticking with these for the rest of the year. They're just simple looking, good ball flight and there are no suprises when I hit (or mishit!) them.

Ok bit of an unwanted update. My MB's were a duplicate order, a degree upright and lengthened then shorted for me. This annoyed me a little so I've ordered and identical set, only completely standard, standard lie with S300's in standard length. So while I wait for those to arrive I've been using these. Feel really nice and a little more grunty than the blades.
And the result was my second ever round under 70. It's been ten years and two months since the last time! And I started on tenth hole before anyone starts talking about coming home in an ambulance!
It's a short course, but has six par threes which means it's a little longer than the card suggests. And it's still 69.

So we can expect to see the Tour Editions in your bag shortly?????:D

First outing with the irons. 76 which is six over and started and finished with bloody doubles. The irons are quite easy on the eye, they feel quite unusual, my brother built them up and the swingweight is D2 which I think is the same as the MB's. Anyway it feels like hitting a heavy ball at impact, that's the only way I can describe it, like the golf ball is twice the weight. Anyway twelve greens, and frighteningly close to dunking one on the par 3 11th. Six iron from 151m, one of my better shots in there for awhile. Looked good all the way, just a little short!

New putter and wedges. Finally gone conforming, no legal need too, I don't play in any of the serious tournaments that ban them. But I felt I was losing a little distance from the spin, not to mention ruining balls. And that that old adage of getting plenty of backspin whenever my approach was short of the flag.
Played this morning and my ball almost looked new after 18 holes. Kept the 58* and dropped the 50* and 54* and replaced it with 52* which I've used before. Oil can looks nice too. I found I hardly ever hit the 54 round my home course. It meant I could carry a hybrid again, but I forgot to put it in my bag and played with 13 clubs.

New putter, as soon as I heard about a centre shafted belly mallet I had to have one. Much softer than the kombi, looks good on the eye, but it seems to sit a little closed. And the headcover is rubbish. I had the demo heel shafted version in my bag in the photo.
