Dimarco and now VJ? Clubheads loose?

I heard that VJ had his driver repaired after he noticed the epoxy was coming undone and the head was loose. Whats up? Dimarco during the Masters and now VJ. And you know if these two had it happen with their high profile names it is happening to many others.

Whats up? Happens or seems wierd?

My NW Tour van Nike Blade PW came loose as well. Is the problem with the time of the year? Gravitational pull (or push)? Cheap glue? :lol:

I was talking to my clubfitter about this and he said that at the tournaments the Pro's want their clubs so fast from completion to range sometimes they don't give it enough time to cure. Even when he regrips them, he doesn't use his usual stuff that he uses at the shop. Definitely a "no smoking" area. :lol:

yer pitbull has it right, they just wont there clubs so fast that they dont give the glue time to dry. So they only need to throw the club against the bag and it will come loose.

It takes about 5 minutes for the epoxy to fully cure when they use the little "heat collar" on the Taylor Made tour van.

Actually 5 minutes on a heating clamp and they have to let it be till it cool down and finish the ferrule.

However, The lenght of time is depending what type of glue they are using. 24hrs epoxy need to be longer.

I've developed a technique that are only use for a rush job by using a real good 24 hrs epoxy and heating it up w/ heat gun to certain degree and let it sit tilll it cool down and finish the ferrule. I always do this technique for my own clubs and never let me down.

99.9% at the time i have no problem, in fact by heating it a certain degree, it will cure stronger.

My clubfitter did Vijay's driver while he was at the Sony. And I got one of the shafts he pulled. :( I hope it wasn't one of his jobs that got loose! :beach: I'll have to talk to him about this tomorrow when I visit him. :rtfm:
