US Bridgestone products

I rarely do this but this time I have to admit that their new product is looking damn good on almost every line.

Especially on the combo iron and Fairway woods.

I'm thinking of getting the Combo set at least.

Perfect size to my eyes. Nice thin top line and sole grind is just friendly enough to hit in almost any lie. No doubt on the feel due to a better grade of carbon steel and finish.

FW is a perfect size too and best off all is the face angle on this one is just perfect. It looks to me like a better version of smoothie. Better is because it has a nice bulge and roll to it. Not to deep and not to shallow. Just perfect!!!

What do you guy think?

I went to a Bridgestone demo day recently and tried several new products.

J33 15* FW: This is the best retail FW that I have hit in recent memory. Great head shape, and the face was the perfect depth. Easy to get in the air, with a nice feel to it.

J33 Combo: The most impressive part of this set are the blade irons. Great grind, and pretty forgiving.

J33 Blades: Beautiful looking. Not any more or less forgiving than your average Mizuno blade. Very nice.

Joe: I hear the J33 line-up calling your name....Kwok, Kwok, Kwok

I'll probably do it if you are asking for the MR23 blade only. I like to keep my T201 long iron.

The long iron is to good to let it go.

I thought you had some MR 23 CBs too???

I don't know what I am saying, by the time Bridgestone gets around to shipping my clubs, the J33 will be old news and everyone will be playing J44 or J55.

That was long gone dude!!!

Shot under one time and never broke 80 for the next 10 rounds after and I've just lost it and dump it.

... that combo set is really nice as are the blades (though they look like throw-backs with very thin soles).  i'm interested in the airmuscle to replace my prgr 040i.

anybody have a review of the 420 version driver?

1300[/snapback]

 J33R 420 cc model.

I have hit it in a 10.5* stiff NV65 and as a 9.5* with a stiff Prolaunch and more recently a Fuji Pro 95 stiff.

Driver head is gorgeous!! Great shape and nice dark color that hides it's size.

Feel is as good as the J340 which is the highest compliment I can give any driver!!! So darn solid feeling.

Sound is OK.

Distance and forgiveness are both very good - this is a great addition to their lineup!!

I'm playing a set of J33 Combos with Nippon 1050 S. I've got 6 rounds with them now, including 4 competitive rounds, and I am extremely happy with them. These replaced a set of MP-32s. Surprisely, I've settled into the head size quite nicely, where I was alittle concerned with forgiveness at first glance. The sole grind has been quite forgiving, as I've hit very playable shots from all over the course. These are the first irons that haven't ended up in my bag with a seed of doubt hanging over them.

I also have the J33R w/NVS 65 S. The head is solid, long, and reasonably forgiving. At present, it doesn't outperform my L460 w/Comp NT.

Good clubs with alot of potential.

How do you like the J33 w/ 1050 stiff setup? I was thinking about this same setup. I have heard the 1050 play soft to flex.

BJL,

This is a very good setup w/Nippon shafts. Initially during demo days, the Endo forged J33's had a crisper feel than I preferred. With the firm feel of the DGS300 stock shafts and the crisp click on the J33, I wasn't impressed. I had limited success with Z101's with Nippon 950 S, but it was very easy to overswing that combination. The Nippon 1050 feel alittle heavier than I expected, but they match well with the J33. The Nippon's definitely have a softer than stated flex, which I preferred. This smooths out the crisper feel of the J33 heads. As a "feel" player, these really allow me to grove my swing, or fix flaws without struggling through a round. Truly, these are the first set of irons in my past 6 sets that I have no doubts about keeping.

For perspective, I would compare these to Rifle 5.0 - 5.5 flex, probably somewhere in the 5.2/5.3 range. They have a distinct kick like DG, but feel smooth throughout like Rifle. If you have any other questions, let me know. But I would recommend Nippon shaft easily in these heads.
