Interested in other players opinion on this Driver.

I was looking to purchase a new driver, after talking with the salesrep, I narrowed the choices to Cleveland 270, Burner 2.0, and this 9088. Simply, it came down to this ..... what am I hitting straighter, more accurate, and longer -- In that order. Granted the shaft in the Cleveland is unbelievable and the Burner 2.0 is only $200 at Carl's Golfland, but I just could not mishit this Adams Driver. Maybe it is because it has a "swing weight of D0, which is slightly lower than a typical iron (D2-D4) and significantly lighter than other extremely light drivers." Do not know but I do know this, I am out $299 with a driver that gives me an extra 15+ yards down the middle. My swing speed is 106, I was playing the old 8.5 Nike Sumo with a tipped V2 shaft (still my baby), I hit a high ball and can't seem to get out further then 260 yds. Not sure what my swing speed is with UL driver, but I am now 285 yards and straighter. Is it aesthetically pleasing to me .... NO! But it is all about the results. Now I am the proud foster parent of the new Adams Speedline 9088 UL, and ready to unleash this bastxxx child on my local golf course.

I play a 9064LS and couldn't be happier. Adams driver are so much fun to hit. Deep, low spin, super forgiving. Just a note on the shafts.. The torque differential between the V2 in your Sumo and the Radix in the Adams are for two different swing types. The Radix helps out golfers who release early by hanging onto the power until impact.. The V2 is better suited for swings that release through the ball. Maybe that's another reason you're seeing better distances? Just a thought.. The matching fairways are so cool. Velocity Slot FTW!

I actually really like the looks of this driver. Golf Galaxy had a "Used" one for like 169.00 a few weeks ago. I hit it and it really did have good feel. But i dont trust the numbers and i also wont buy a driver without hitting it outside. Plus, I then saw the thread for the new speedline and am waiting for that before i purchase next years gamer. (if it actually gets released, i was excited for the speedline classic too.)

I'm not into the UL products that Adams puts out. I'd have to see it in something else but all by golf store has are "A" flex. That tells me something about the intended market. When they get the tour model I will re-assess.

I'm good. I was just commenting on the nature of the club. You don't see a lot of A and L flex clubs in a huge retailer typically. Maybe 1 or 2. These were all A and L. And by all I mean ~40 clubs.

I recently picked up the 9088 and a Speedline LP 5 wood on ebay for 250 dollars. Longest and straightest driver I have ever owned. Staying in my bag a long long time. Amazing driver! Kudos to Adams Golf and thank you for helping find more fairways and have shorter 2nd shots. good.gif

Amen to that! I recently picked up the 9088, 5 and 7 woods for stupid cheap. They are all bombers. The driver is sneaky long. A good 10-15 yards longer than my R9. The sound is also something I really like, almost a fairway like *thwack* and off it goes. My first day out with it, I drove 2 greens (296 and 310) and one rolled off the back of a 294 yarder. Dispersion was really good, if it was a bad result it was because of a horrible swing.

I found one of these heads for cheap on the bay and threw a Grafalloy prolite HL shaft in it. :cheesy: It was a "let's see how cheaply I can build a driver" experiment, but I'm still playing it and and actually sold my supertri because I hit this thing just as far and accurately, so after a few weeks I was like "might as well make some money off the supertri, 'cause no one will even bid on this frankenstein if I list it."

The funny thing is, I saw a post or two claiming it was draw biased but I'm finding that I simply don't lose it left, which is my common miss. Come to think of it, I can't really lose it right either. Just baby draws and fades all day. Could be the Prolite HL I suppose, another surprise there; pretty solid shaft for the price.

Agree with others on the sound; a nice 'thwack' that is rather addicting and a relief with every driver out there being loud.

My only complaint would be the light head; 195g, would prefer something a little heavier so it would build to a decent SW at a normal (44.75") length.

I bought a 9088UL head a while back on EBay. I’ve had several shafts in it, and am loving it with a UST Proforce AxivCore Black.

Very forgiving, great distance. Sounds good and not loud. The best all-around driver I’ve had to date.
