Ping "Nome" putter spotted at 2012 Humana Challenge

A new milled putter that Ping has few guys trying. Daniel Summerhays had it and was kind enough to let me shoot it.

I second that! I hope there's a belly option. Now I can bump my Kombi-s and have a full Ping bag :-)

Nice! I wonder if it's got the same nano-whatever plate over aluminum construction that the Sydney has. I'm glad, though not surprised to see the alignment aid cross over to other putters. This should attract more people who want a mallet but didn't dig the neo-mallet looks of the Sydney--which is a great putter in it's own right.

that kind of looks like a cross between an odyssey dart and a kombi but its an interesting looking putter

I have a custom fit putter. If I didn't I would own this one. I'm two clubs short of all PING. I think it's ok because it's the putter and a 4 wood. I've heard a lot that once you find a good fairway, keep it.

Actually, it appears to be just a variation on the Sydney design. Same materials (aluminum) and milling. Same sight line. It looks great actually, I love those high-MOI designs.

I have a Sydney, it's a great putter. Very hard to miss the sweet spot.

Finally a good looking mallet from Ping. I haven't liked the Ping mallets since the Darby.

I just scheduled my appointment with SeeMore golf to go through a putter fitting looking for a belly or long putter. I pay $25 to reserve my spot and then see this! Wow! I love the black alignment aid as compared to the red on the Sydney and the Scottsdale red. I am a fan of Daniel's and have had dinner with him a couple times when he was playing on the Nationwide in Chattanooga. I need to see if I can get some feedback from him on this putter!!!!! WOW!!!

sweet looking putter. Would love give it a try. I kinda hate the name tho...all I can think about is the liitle yard gnomes when I see the name ...o well the name doesnt effect the way it plays

In the photos, the Ping Nome looks almost as sweet as the Taylormade Manta.

Can't wait to see them for real and to demo them head-to-head. (bad pun, sorry)

Although, I think I'd rather use the Kombi or Sydney over this Nome.

I prefer a blade, but this looks sweet. I really like how it looks from the top
