Well I don't know if this would qualify as clever but 2 years ago I decided to go after a professional engineering license. I just found out about 2 months ago that I passed the (final) test and I have been approved by the state so I am now official. I wanted to get something to celebrate/remember the occasion. I originally considered a really nice watch like a Rolex or Brietling (like my dad wears) but in this age of smartphones I haven't worn a watch in 10 years, so I thought it would just sit in a drawer. So I decided on a new putter that I could get stamped. I got my initials on the face and the state and my license number on the back. Even if I only use the putter for a few years it will be retired to my home office where it will always be out for me to see it. Maybe if I am really lucky someday my 7 year old boy will want it for himself.

One the left bumper "Tiger" and on the right "Woods" putters stamped like that sure used to make a lot of putts.
