How fundamentally and technically correct are these lessons?

For the more knowledgable golfers
I've read my fair share of books and articles and I'm always looking for the most "fundamentally correct" golf swing. The swing has changed a lot over the past few decades. There aren't really any rights or wrongs but I'm looking for the most efficient and mechanically sound swing. I came across these lessons a few days ago and I found some of the articles to be enlightning (eg. ball position).

I would appreciate if the more learned golfers here would go through the lessons and give their views on how good they are.

Please go through all the sections including grip, swing plane, ball position etc. and compare it to the modern golf swing and give your general views on them. Thanks!

This is one-half of Jim Hardy's one-plane/two-plane theory. What Luther is advocating falls into the one-plane category and seems to follow Hogan pretty closely. "One-plane" is a swing where the arms are swung around the turning body, with the arms swinging up and onto more or less the same plane as the shoulders. It tends to resemble a baseball swing bent over at the waist, and is relatively flat.

However, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus did none of those things, yet noone could argue that they weren't technically sound. The two-planer swings his arms up onto a plane steeper than the shoulder plane, keeping the arms in front of the turniing body. The swing is more vertical.

Modern golfers swing both ways: yesterday, the top-3 at FBR were all one-planers: Badds, Rollins, Quinney; so is Sergio. Yet Els, Lefty, Woods (with the driver), Adam Scott, Goosen are more vertical and are two-planers. The important thing is to know which method you want to follow and to make sure you don't take in conflicting information.

The first page about the grips is kind of interesting. I do notice a change in tension at address when comparing the vardon vs. interlocking, but I don't know if it would be beneficial (or detrimental). Is what he said Nicklaus wishing he had used teh vardon grip in hindsight true?

Edit: He also claims Hogan hit a draw, which is contradictory to just about everything I've ever heard. Can anyone comment on this?

Hogan hit a fade as when he was growing up he had a low hook. He developed a anti-hook swing and all of his fundamentals are valid and worth doing. He spent four days studying his swing and devised a plan to stop the dreaded hook.

This is slightly off topic, but I used to believe that as well, then I actually got to watch Hogan play because my girlfriend gave me one heck of a Valentines day gift Shell's Wonderful World of Golf Hogan Vs. Snead:

This is a GREAT DVD for golf fans featuring two of the purest ball strikers in the world. In it, Hogan played both fades and draws at will with just about every club in his bag (even driver). One thing I noticed are the differences in finish Hogan had between his fades and draws.

His draws always have a pronounced, round high finish, while the draws were lower and more "cut off."

Great DVD for the serious golf fan, I don't think there's a better display of pure ball striking on record anywhere.
