Driver shaft Question

for those tha have moved on from an NV

If you have previously used and enjoyed an NV shafted driver, but have moved on to something else.... what did you go to?

and what have you found that is better (and why)?

Reason for me asking is that I've played with the NV for a couple of years and love it...... but I've got the itch (you know...)

Accra/Diamana/V2/ZCOM/771-TA/Rombax/AD etc.....?

maybe wait for the VS????

or maybe just change to a pink NV (hey that's still an upgrade right?) :cheesy:

I've been using Nv for the last 2 years. I just picked up a driver with an accuflex, evolution. It seems to be working pretty good right now. Interesting thing is I used an Nv stiff, the accuflex is a "x" which supposedly is super stiff. Ive been hitting the ball just as far, with some more accuracy. My SS is 105-110 range. The shaft is in an Adams tour model 400cc , comp driver. I had the shaft checked and it CPM'd at 265. I would have never thought about going to a x flex, could be just the "new" driver syndrome, but so far ,so good.

I switched from an NV to an ACCRA T60 in my primary driver, mostly because I wanted to try one of these newer low-torque shafts.

And...............I REALLY like the Ac. When I'm swinging well - my dispersion pattern is very, very tight off the driver, and I like the softer and smoother feeling of the Accra over the NV.

However - the NV is in my backup driver (Launcher 400), and I still like this combination a LOT. The NV is STILL a premium shaft, that seems to respond well to HITTING the ball hard.

The only real benefit I got was the tigher dispersion - I feel that the newer low-torque shafts are better for these humongous clubheads.

OTOH - be CAREFUL. The low torque also means that the club will do PRECISELY what your swing tells it to. If your swing is off - the lower torque will respond precisely to where you're aiming. For me - this results in a few shots hard LEFT.

I concur in that the NV causes miss hits to go offline more and the high-end shafts give you a tighter dispersion plus for me, a more penetration flight. In the bag, on any given day, are an AD M65(x), AD M65 (s) and Diamana (s).
