srixon z star tour yellow

butters!

UPDATE
im currently using prov1x and am looking into a ball with the same charicteristics but a bit more durable.i also would like to know about visibility.i have great vision but sometimes i have a hard time seeing the ball actually land.it all depends on the background really.

i want a ball that spins more around the green than the pv1x and lasts more than one full wedge shot.i dont have a problem with high spin on tee shots if that matters.the pv1x does ok but its 50/50 wen checking up on chips and pitches, prolly more technique than anything but oh well.im open to all sugestions and they dont have to be yellow.

I love the xvs, super durable, and depending on your locale and type of grass may be more visible. I find that they provide enough spin on full shots, but you will sacrifice some spin on 50 yards and in. All around great ball for control, but if you're in the zone the V1x gets the nod.

How did you find the distance of the xvs to compare to the v1x? Thanks

im not sure if i should go z star or the z star xvs,my driver swing speed is 110-115 if that will help.not too concerned on finding the ball on the grass,i just want to see it land.we have alot of open courses and the ball gets lost in clouds i guess.if the background is trees or something besides sky im fine

The XV is comparable to the ProV1x as far as distance and spin. I find that the Srixons are more durable and last longer without getting all chewed up from wedges. The regular Z-Star is more like the ProV1, more spin and feel but a little less distance. I switch between them both depending on weather, courses and how I'm feeling that day. I really do like the Tour Yellow. Though I have good eyesight, I like being able to quickly spot my ball on the green when I'm playing with a group as well as finding it when the fairways have dew in the mornings.

xvs have been longer on average solely based on the fact that they produce less sidespin. Like I said earlier if you're in the zone, Prov1x all the way, very comparable if you're swing is on.

i really like the yellow because most at my club are so caught up in playing prov1s that I am one of the very few that play them . Never a doubt that its my ball in tight!

if you ever work in retail golf you would be amazed at the amount of amatuers and seniors that come in that cant spend the $46 quick enough on a box of balls that they dont generate anywhere near enough compression to hit... same with stiff shafts. People would rather slice the ball into the woods than have there friends see a regular flex shaft (gasp!) on the tee box

on titleist website they say even at low swing speeds the ball will compress enough.they have a picture showing it.as for the stiff shafts your dead on

I haven't had a problem with half shot spin with the Z Star in white or yellow compared to a V1 or V1x. I have definitely seen that the yellows are more durable than the whites, and both are more durable that the Pro V1 and V1x.

I have been playing some Z-Start X's in tour yellow recently and I have been having a hard time finding the ball in the rough. I will probably be moving back to my Pro V1x because it seems that it fits my swing a little better, not to say that the Z-Stars are not as good, just not for me.

update:
the local shop had the bridgestone guys out for a ball fitting saturday.with only three warm up swings i had to do the fitting.they gave me a prov1x to start and my ss was 105.4 on average with a 11* launch angle 3770 backspin and 1527 side spin.they suggested the b330rx.i had an average of 106 ss 10.1 launch angle 3110 back spin and 790 side spin with a 14 yard gain in distance.i was curious why the b330rx when my swing speed is over 105.im sure its higher once i get warmed up a bit more.

i bought a dozen of the rx in optic yellow and also bought a sleeve of the srixon zstar optic yellow.the b330rx is a good ball no doubt but i had much better results on the course today with the zstar.im not concerned with gaining distance so im not sure why i even bought the b330rx.the zstar flew just as far and strait if not better than the b330rx and had much better control around the greens.we played on a course that has lightning fast greens that are extra firm.the zstars damn near stopped on a dime while the b330rx had alot more release.i know they are a higher spin ball than the rx but i still expected more out of the bridgestone.

on a side not, both balls are much much much more durable than the prov1/prov1x.i will be buying the zstar's in optic yellow from here on out

I didn't have the yellow, but I did try the XV after I found one two rounds ago. On my most recent round, I played it and it was incredible - low launching and spinning, and really great for wind. I hit one straight into the wind, and it cut through it beautifully! FWIW, I've been a ProV1x player for many years, and I really need to do a head-to-head comparison.

havnt tried yellow yet either but just switched from prov1s to the XV in white and not sure why i didnt switch earlier. AS much or more spin around greens and aproaches as the reg Prov but longer off the tee than V1xs and straighter. On top of all that they dont turn into a browning marshmallow after 2.5 holes. Best tour ball ive come across so far and am looking to pick up a dozen yellows to try them aswell.
