Ball Suggestions?

Hey guys, I am an ok player, mid to high 80's, but am very inconsistent and can easily play a mid to high 90's round lol. I was playing the original Pentas and noticed I wasn't getting a lot of distance. I love the soft feel. I recently tried the Rocket Ballz and love the distance and accuracy but I couldn't get anything to stop on the greens. I tried the Penta TP3's and love them. They feel soft, they stop on a dime and the distance with low side spin is great. I was wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the TP3 and TP Black? The Blacks are on sale at a lot of places and I was wondering if anyone has notice much of a difference?

Also I would really appreciate it if anyone has some other suggestions for balls for me to try. I am down to try anything I just don't want to spend 40 dollars on balls that I won't like. I have a swing speed around 105. I love a ball with a soft feel, especially for putting and am more concerned with increased spin on my short game then distance with my driver. I am long with my irons so accuracy off the tee is much more important than distance to me. Thank you for any suggestions!

Sounds similar to my situation. I played the ProV1x for a long time, but went over to the Penta last year when they went on sale. I really like the Pentas, but after a while it was clear to me that I was losing distance. I ended up jumping on the Titliest 3-1 deal and ordered 4 boxes of the ProV1xs and have been happy thus far, and I can say that to me the V1x is NOTICEABLY longer than the Penta off the driver.

I know there are a lot of "Replace My ProV1 / ProV1x" threads here and elsewhere, but after trying a number of different options I always, always, always find myself going back to the Titleist. I have a friend who frequently reminds me that the ProV1/xs are the standard against which other balls are measured for a reason.

As far as the TM Blacks go, I've only played that ball once and found it a little more difficult to compress than the Penta or the V1x. Could have just been in my head though. I'd also check out the Cally Hex Chrome - I've heard nothing but good things about them (same goes for the TP3).

Keep an eye out for Nike One Tours. Looks like they are out of stock at the cheapie places. If more stock shows up, the discount outlets should have these for about $20/dz.. The tours are softer and spin on the green more. The tour-D is longer, spins on the green less. I have a stash of these that I use when I'm not testing other balls. This is the only tour quality ball I've seen available for under $30 on a regular basis.

My swing speed is 106-108. I love the Bridgestone B330 and B3330S but good deals on these are hard to find. The Pentas are great and have more deals available (especially last years TP vs this year's TP5). I play new Pro Vs as I get free sleeves of them and found ones when I want to compare them to test balls. All the other $40 tour balls I've tried were close to Pro Vs but not close enough to get excited about the price difference. Except for the Nike's, if you want tour quality you have either have to shop hard or spend $40+. Otherwise you need to start looking at used balls or 2 piece balls (e.g. Gamer, NXT, Noodle).
