flex 6.5 how does this compare to DGS300
I am just curious how stiff are these project x 6.5 compare to other shaft manufacturer? I have a mizuno mx23 DG S300 shaft in them and i have no problem hitting it. My swing speed on a driver is 90-95mph, handicap is 10. Will the 6.5 project x be suitable for me? Thanks for the inputs.

PX shaft 6.5 is = DGX100, Suitable or not is depending on a lot of thing here...Trajectory, tempo, etc.

Joe,

Thanks for the reply. I am new to golf, just started last year. Not really familiar with the whole shaft thing. I've been reading a lot but still may need help. I have my eye on a MP30 that has a project x 6.5 shaft in them. That is why i am trying to get some info on these particular shafts. How stiff is this shaft compare to the one that my mx23 have which is DG S300? What is the trajectory? Is low, mid, or high? What is the weight of the shaft? What is the feel of, muted etc? Thanks a lot Joe. Been to your website once but now don't know how to get there. do you have the website to provide?

PX's are a different animal entirely compared to DG's IMO... flight will be mid- to high(unless they are too stiff. the feel is like a board unless you are a striker of the ball- meaning you hit down and take a divot.. if thats the case and your happy with your s300's.. look for a set of 6.0's.. if your s300's are a bit balloony on you 6.5 will fit nicely... the first few times I tried PX's I hated them...but after experimenting with ALL the 'other' shafts possible I found myself back to the px's and can't think of using another shaft. They are lighter in wieght than the DG's.

PX shaft 6.5 is a lot stiffer compare to the DGS300, almost to a full flex. Ball flight is a different character kind of flight. Base on the same equal flex, PX should lift the ball quick and flatten up and DG is more of penetrating ball flight.

PX is around 115gr and DG is around 125gr. Feel is very subjective IMO, I found that PX feel a bit harsh at impact to me, but this will depends on what head you are playing it with and some other factors too. All I can say is, try everything first and get fitted after you know what feel and perfomance you like and discuss it w/ a experience clubmaker and ask him what option you got. Get second opinion if you have to. Call me if you have to!

I haven't been able to upgrade my website for a while due to my load of work. :drinks: I didn't put anything special there, I would love to upgrade them but It's to much work for me to be able to take care of it and tune it up to the way i want them to be.

THX!

i would try 5.0 or 5.5 as stated above, but note that you'll be losing total weight compared to the dgs300. from various posts, i've read that dg's in stiff match up to px 5.5's pretty well in terms of frequency, but depending on your swing, you might want to try 5.0 for a little more feel/loading ability....

Tried the 6.5 out just for kicks, found it to play almost like an X.  Way too stiff.  Tried out the 5.5 as well as the 5.0 and I was getting more consistant shots with the 5.0.  Had them stepped up to a 5.2 and really liking the trajectory as well as the shot dispersion.

the 6.5 is an X for sure, the dg x100's freq to about 6.2 so the px 6.5 is even stiffer.

also joey3108 when you said.....PX shaft 6.5 is a lot stiffer compare to the DGS300, almost to a full flex. Ball flight is a different character kind of flight. Base on the same equal flex, PX should lift the ball quick and flatten up and DG is more of penetrating ball flight.

PX is around 115gr and DG is around 125gr.. the px 6.0 and 6.5 are a similar weight to the dg's while the 5.5 and below are much lighter
