Back in my rodeo days it was nothing but Copenhagen original, every now and then I would put a half a cap of jack daniels in it for flavor.
Now it is usually kodiak or longhorn if I want to go cheap. Planning on calling it quits here soon. I used chew to get off the cigarettes now that I am used to not smoking I need to ween my self off the chew.

I know it's an addiction... what I don't get is why ever start??????

Cigarettes, cigars and dip is just totally disgusting. Why would anyone want to do that (by choice) to themselves is beyond my comprehension. Bad breath, bad teeth, bad health, waste of money.... boy sounds appetizing.

As far as cigarettes and chew is concerned, I agree. It's kinda hard to understand why anyone would do it.

I have been chewin on and off for about 25 years. I'll go years without chewin , then start up again. It started when I was a kid. A friend offered me some. And that was that.

Cigars on the other hand...that's a whole different story. A good cigar is one of the finer things in life. Right up there with wine and cheese.

A friend of mine brought some Cohiba Siglio VI back from Cuba. The aroma is amazing and it doesn't leave a nasty taste in your mouth like so many of the store bought cigars here in the states. It's enjoyable to sit back with some friends, chat, and smoke a good cigar. Some nice scotch or whiskey to go with it helps also :)

Used to enjoy Skoal Straight Long Cut.

Found something in my mouth. Now I enjoy not dipping and being cancer free. It was a scary moment. Be careful boys...

Copenhagen is still selling the trial cans for $2.05. Bought one tonight.

They also had Skoal X-tra mint blend pouches for $2.43. Got one in right now and it's not bad....just a little on the strong minty side.

I may switch to pouches cause I'm tired of pickin this stuff out of my teeth.

Is this chewing tabaco?
No it's dip, and it's banned in most EU countries (except Sweden I think)
I would never start dipping, but is it really banned in the EU? Considering how many people smoke in Europe, I'm shocked.

Yep it's banned in EU

Smoking laws have changed in UK and Ireland in the last few years. You cannot smoke in public places like pubs anymore. Also cigarettes are now hidden away behind closed counters in shops and advertising has been banned. A lot of people do smoke here but there has been a drop off in the number of kids taking it up.

They are also on about selling cigarettes in plain packs with no logos - just one big hazard photo of a black lung and the manufacturers name in plain script

Genuine answer....It cannot be explained to those that don't, as many addictions can't.

I have made a slight improvement on my habit and have switched to swedish snus (For whatever reason a place in my local town sells it)

Its cheaper, it has less carcinogens and there is no spit cup or spitting on the course. Just put it on the gum line and forget it.

My wife is very happy, LOL.

Well, work has a program where they pay for any thing we need to help us quit and we get points (a system like sky miles) in our health and wellness program. I've been trying to quit for a while with zero success so why not try this? Plus I get 2500 points for it. Found a cruise on there for 14k points per person and I'm at 4500 points not and can build around 18-20k more easily. And can build another 12-15k points in the wifey's account on top of the 5500 she already has. Looks like a cruise for quitting for me (or at least another step toward a cruise).

I buy Copenhagen by the log, usually 2 of the 5 can logs a week. Signing up on FreshCope.com gets you coupons all the time. That said, I can get 5 cans for $15.99 before tax instead of the normal $3.80 per can. I have tried other brands/flavors, but nothing else satisfies the craving like Cope.
I'm surprised it's not more than that. When I first started dipping, I could get it for $.79 a can and 14 years later, when I quit, it was around $3.00 a can. That was in 1997, so for it to only have gone up $.80 in 15 years is not too bad. I thought it'd be over $5 a can by now.
It usually is about $5 per can if you go to a convenience store, but the price can vary a lot depending on brand.
Not here in Georgia. I buy at a convenience store close to me. It's cheaper there than anywhere else. It's under $4 per can here.

As for why I dip so much, I get a 3 finger dip and get maybe 5 a can.

I tried some peach dip once... I didn't like it much and spit it out. Smells really good. Then I look at pictures of people with half a face and just chew another piece of gum.
Yep, it's cheap down here, now I dip pretty much every time I step on the course, and just socially with friends, I don't do it alone.

Not an addicted, just something I enjoy...

I like Copenhagen Long Cut Original, and Copenhagen Long Cut Southern Blend a little, but it's a salty dip and burns a bit more than others.

2.90 a can for Southern Blend, didn't check the price on Original.

Well, I'm on the trying to quit train. Went to a new dentist recently and the lady cleaning my teeth found a wisdom tooth in sideways. When she was looking and since they're referring me to an oral surgeon, she said she's going to get them to biopsy where I always hold my dip as a precaution. She said there's nothing to worry about but since I dip and they'll have me under she wants a biopsy to be certain: I've dipped a long time but get saying that, even if she said she's not worried just being cautious, makes it very real for me. My son will be 4 soon, I need to be there for him as long as possible.
