Easily as long on a monitor as long as the shaft fits you and just as easy to hit. I was strongly considering an i20 3w but why spend the $$ to end up with the same as what I had. I instead bought an RBZ 15* as it was longer on the monitor but now tinkering with shafts. The stock X-con just does not work for me. Put a Kai'li 60g in it and got a little better and now have a Rifle Lite steel shaft in it for the next test session. I may end up going back to the V-Steel at some point if I can't make the RBZ as consistent as the trusty V-Steel.

Saw a 3w & 5w at the local Golfsmith in the used bin for $39 ea and almost bought the 5w.

I put a 63g Blueboard in mine and absolutely LOVED it.....................until it snapped right above the hossel. Currently looking for another BB to put back in it after either doing a flat black or white refinish.

Just joined the club. Bought a 18deg of eBay for $45AUD. Can't wait to see what all the noise is about with these. It has a 49 gram shaft in it though; should be interesting...

I play a 15* tour issue with a pro 95. Bought it on fleabay forever ago. There have been many pretenders over the years, but it keeps coming back. Have spare 13* and 15* heads in the garage just in case.

About the best I found along the way was a r7 15* with a blue board 83x.

Tried to like the r11. Hated the feel and despite the occasional long ball, was inconsistent.

Going to experiment with a few r9 heads this winter to see if I can find a competitor.

Love mine - paint break tour issue ones come with slightly open face to help eliminate the left side. I'm all Titleist except for these fairways 15 & 18* (16.5* in travel bag), all with NV 85s shafts - pure magic!

Well I have decided to give the v steel a try. Just picked one up on the bay for under 30 bucks, unfortunately no shaft spec information was given but in the pictures it appears to be a RIP shaft so i may have just got an extremely good deal!

Well back to report:

Wow this thing is awesome!!! After a few swings on the range it was time to start the round. FIrst hole is a par 5 and we were left with 237 yards with about a 10-15 mph wind in the face and I stuffed the shot to about 10 feet of the hole. I hit it 2 other times today and each were equally as well struck, one was just in front of the green and the other was hole high in the rough (all of these were on par 5's). The ball just cuts through the ground so easily and just sores, I would compare it to either the 910F or i20 ... BUT!!!!!! only 25 bucks. Maybe with a nice shaft I may get a few more yards out of it but wow as of right now I can't complain.

Agreed! The NV 85s is the shaft for me in mine. It just goes. I just updated the 13* head again and now I think I'll find a 18*.
I'm pretty pleased with the R11 look but I didn't use the right tape so the edges came out rough!

What paint did you use for the face and sole? Curious how it will hold up with use too? I've been thinking about giving mine a white-out treatment but not crazy about the unfinished face and sole with white.

It's actually powder coat. I had one of my friends do it and he tried to pull the tape before it had cured thus the edges. I will update on how the finish holds up. So far so good. 1 range session and 1 round but only used it one time during the round. I love the superfast / r11 look. So I am going to work on an 18* next.

After reading so many great things, I pulled the trigger and got a v steel 3 wood for very cheap off ebay. It hasn't arrived yet, but it's fitted with a standard flex steel shaft. Any recommendations for the best shaft in this bad boy?

I love the Epic fairway shaft in mine! Very stable if your looking for accuracy but maybe not as long as some other shafts out there.

Hit it with the steel first, give yourself a baseline. Heck, maybe you will like the steel, I sure as hell do.

Well, all the comments in this thread brang out the Ho in me. Just bought a v steel 3 wood and 5 wood on the Bay... Was $80 for both (thats with shipping). Looking forward to trying these bad boys out this week!

Mine has an Arthur Extreme X-Caliber 75g fairway shaft drying in it as we speak. Finally decided to bail on the RBZ and go back to the trusty V-Steel. Hopefully this shaft will work as good as the Blueboard did before it snapped.

I had a tour 13* T/S a few years ago. I was a little different than most. I had the VS 2 version as it had a little deeper face and one of the longest fairways I have ever hit. I had a old true temper EI-70 in it and still regret letting it go.

I hope I don't jinx myself, but the first range outting with the Arthur Extreme X-Caliber Fairway Shaft in the old 15* V-Steel was awesome! Very easy to hit off the tee or the deck with a great ball flight. Baby draw or straight even if you really go after it and pretty easy to work both ways. The feel is very similar to a Diamana Blueboard to me. At $39.95 retail plus a $30 V-Steel head from the pre owned rack and you'll have a 3w for under $100 that's as easy to hit as any on the market.

Mine has earned it's way back in the bag and the RBZ is officially for sale. Still trying to figure out what it is about the V-Steel design that makes it so damn easy to hit?

There is no way I'd even think about trying any of the 3 woods that are out now. At the most, I'd be interested in how to powder coat it.
