The only thing missing.........." The're longer"
:D

Well they are graphite! LOL I would think that would be assumed, but honestly, I think these are more about controlled distance, more than just plain ol' distance.

We all know that graphite is pretty expensive. However, the flexibility and customization options you have with graphite, make this, in my opinion, pretty groundbreaking. The chief complaint and stereotype of graphite shafts are that they are inconsistent from shaft to shaft. This will go a long way in eliminating that.

I'm sure these will not be cheap. There are a lot of people that actually prefer graphite, and many like myself that actually need graphite keep us in the game.

That being said, I hope to have mine within a month or so.

Definitely longer :taunt: ...the truth is when we started down this path with recoil, we sent out surveys to see what golfers were looking for in their iron shafts. What we found out was they wanted control and consistency and If they hit it longer, even better. The testing we have done with amateurs and tour players is that recoil has the control and consistency they are accustomed to and in some cases even better than their steel counterpart. The biggest feedback we got was the "feel" was better than anything out there.

Arthritis in my arms and back. The orthropaedic surgeon at Walter Reed basically said, "Give up the game." After I told him, "Not only no, but..." He said, at least switch to graphite shafts. I couldn't take the shock of steel striking the ground. I was in agony and have walked off the course after 9 holes, just done. When pain goes through down your back and legs and up again, it's terrible. Graphite shafts have made a world of difference. I don't play in pain anymore.

Fricking awesome! I'm so glad this is what you guys found as I'm sure that's the general consensus among people on this board, and we all know we're the biggest golf junkies out there.

That's been the only knack I can tell for graphite shafted irons, is the lack in consistency. If you can match steel, you have a winner. If you can beat it...well...it'll frankly change the game as we know it.

I feel your pain my man. I too have suffered one of those injuries that I should have just quit the game but I just love it too much. I had to stop playing for 9 mths and then I had to space out the playing time to let my elbow heel. This was July 2004 it happened and I STILL have to be careful. Something about this damm game that just keeps sucking you back in! I think it makes us an offer we can't refuse! LOL

Can you eloborate what the improvements/differences are for the Tour & Prototype 125's are to the current IS990 shafts?

Thank you.
+1 on the request… Have a set with the IS980/990 as well as a set of the Tour Attas shafts. Would love to know the comparisons...

Any idea on price for a set of the tour prototype?
The TourSPX MAP pricing on the shafts is $112.50per shaft. But, like all TourSPX shafts the Tour Protos are meant to be fitted and installed there for "additional charges may apply".
I have a couple models coming my way for testing.

Going to be a tough sell. People think Aerotech's are expensive at less than 1/3 the price of these...I'm all for performance benefits, but you better be able to deliver some REAL improvements for people to just arbitrarily drop ~$1,000 on a set of iron shafts...

I have tried the Aerotechs prior to making the plunge to graphite shafts... No matter what weight and flex, tipped and stepped I could not get the ball flight lower. With the IS900 I am able to control trajectory quite well. Also when you go with the TourSPX you will get a matched set... Quite a comforting feeling seeing the shaft specs and knowing there is negligible variability shaft to shaft...

The street price is closer to $80.00 each like the IS990s. I spoke to dealer about doing a set of i125cw's and IS990s. 4-PW (with grips) were about $375 i125's and $650ish for the IS990's.
