I got some MP 52's with brown ball spots I'm willing to get rid of if anyone wants to scare someone on the tee

I'm still trying to figure out many years/balls it takes to get that brown spot on irons.
I generally get them after 4 or 5 months of having a club. Really depends on how well you take care of them, how many balls you hit, etc. I generally hit about 500-800 balls a day
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH thats the funniest thing I have ever read. 18 and hit 500+ balls a day. HAHAHAHA

Sorry that I get to play golf all day every day for free and you don't.

If you want to know the truth I do play everyday.

From 7 am to 8:30 pm? Because if you did, then you should know it's not hard to hit that many balls in a day. It's not like I'm the only person in the country that does this.

Chin, I don't have a gaming console. Too busy playing golf for it.

Absolutely zero! I'm very cognizant of my abilities.
Nothing more satisfying than beating a fellow who hits drives 100 yards past my best drive. Although as I get older the satisfaction is becoming less frequent. The kids are pretty good.

If I remember correctly, the topic of this thread is printed at the top of each page. I suggest that you might want to refer to the topic of the thread before making even one more post about the number of range balls you either hit or don't hit. While this may be a worthy topic, it is not the topic of this thread. It is for this reason, several posts have disappeared.

Thanks for your help.

Old Clubs and new grips are always a sign a guy is happy with his gear.

As others have mentioned, aged fairway woods are always a sign too.

Also slightly weary of a guy with a Driver that may be 5-10 years old but looks like it has been hit well in the past.

Guy with a blade putter and no wedge higher than 56 degrees often suggests to me he knows what he is doing. Especially old wedges with rusty heads!

But above all, a slightly older guy with a smooth metronomic swing who is still using player style cavity backs with graphite shafts is a guy who knows what he needs and is set up to maximize his abilities.

Are you more interested in becoming a better golfer or proving to a bunch of people on the internet that you are good? Because if you're half as committed to golf as you are this...
I never mentioned anything about being good. I answered a person's question regarding wearspots on irons and how long it took to get them and got flamed for my response.

Having wrestled D1 in college I have to say being intimidated on the golf course usually aint happening LOL....
Having spent 12 years in the Marine Corps, fought in 2 wars, and has more close calls with hot flying objects that Jenna, old blades with worn grooves still intimidate me on the golf course.....

Just saying.....

The bag I fear the most is the golfer with a shiny new set of the newest and greatest equipment. I just hope he can get off the tee and play golf. Plus, I hope he doesn't start making excuses about his game and tell me how great his equipment plays.

When the guy on the first tee pulls out a brand new 910 fairway wood says "this is the second time I've hit this" and proceeds to roast one 250 plus on a rope. Found out during the round that he has multiple state am wins and is the no 1 ranked am in NH. What a blast! I leaned a lot of from watching him play that day. Plus 1 cap and DOESN'T play blades. All you 15 handicappers out there that think they have the ability to hit em, think twice

One thing that comes to mind is this summer I got paired up with a guy who had a bag with clubs that pre dated 1900 and was also playing an authentic ball from that era. We had a good chat about the clubs and the ball and he explained to me that the balls from that era only fly about 180-200.....so this guy on every hole manages 3 straight shots and a one putt. Couple mishaps but he played a couple over for the round. It's always interesting seeing the different methods you can use to get around a course.

Unless i can see a 9mm sticking out the pocket. Nothing
Funny you mention that. I was at a course in Montana that had a big gopher field next to it. This guy I was randomly paired with pulls out a 45 and takes a couple of shots. Hit's one and says something like:" got the little bugger! Ha ha ha!" Then puts the gun away like nothing happened. I was 16 at the time and it pretty much scared the hell out of me.

There was a course on the Dakotas Tour, I think it was called Millbank CC where there was a skeet shooting range at the far side of the driving range. We'd be hitting range balls towards them and they'd be shooting buck shot towards us. It was very unnerving. I realize the pellets wouldn't reach us but still, guns going off in your back swing was weird...

I don't really look at the clubs in the bags, but what the bag is... those Ping Hoofers with the embroidery of some college golf factory (like Stanford) scare the hell out of me..

If I see someone carrying blades, along anything tour issue I assume they are one of the many 12-20 handicaps that frequent golfwrx and hope they are ready to bet some cash. Bags or clubs never really scare me cause it's hard to tell.
