Hot Tub: Bromine or Chlorine?

And before someone else does it:

Jokes aside, They will be installing tonight, and I've got to decide if I want to go with Bromine or Chlorine. It's a Christmas gift for the family.

FWIW: We have never owned a hot tub prior, the tub has a white inner shell, we live in Minnesota

Any preference? Anyone have good/bad experiences?

We had one a few years ago. From memory, it was a Bromine system, but we still used chlorine in it. It wasn't regular chlorine, it was specific for spa's ( as they're called here in Australia) and we only had to put in a couple of spoons of it in after each use.

I remember being told at the time that Bromine was a better way to go. Only issue we ever had was that one of the internal hoses perished quite quickly as apparently the Bromine had corroded it. Once that was replaced with a better quality hose (only cost a few bucks to replace) it didn't miss a beat.

I wish I still had it now!

What's the point of it then? The key is to not let OTHER people have sex in it.

If you drink Chernoblye in it and go back in time, don't automatically assume everything is going to play out as it did. For example, if you accidently bring a squirrel with you through time, he may inadvertently end up screwing up the 1987 Browns-Broncos playoff game that you thought the Broncos were going to win. And if you happened to bet a gun toting low life in a bar, he will try to collect on it and things could get messy. But then, once you get through that, just invent google and create a knock-off Motley Crue band, and you should be golden

[/quote]Thanks for the info. We decided to go Bromine (per the installer's suggestion). It's in place, but will have ot wait until tomorrow for them to fill it up and fire it up ....
