Bushnell V2 Question

Woogie

Recommended Posts

After reading and researching between GPS and rangefinders, I think I am going to pull the trigger and buy a Bushnell V2. This may be a seriously dumb question, but is there a difference between the one that comes in white as opposed to the one in gunmetal gray?

Obviously, I understand that one is white and one is gray, but I noticed on a couple of websites the white one is more expensive and friend tried to tell me their is a difference (although he couldn't explain the difference) :nea: . I just want to clarify before I buy, but as far as color it makes no difference to me.

Before you buy the Bushnell, I would recommend searching the forum (and the web) for: E31 error. My V2 is now a paperweight. And it has happened to more than just a few people here.

Perhaps consider a Nikon (Callaway) or Leupold.

Just a suggestion.

Hi, I have had the v2 for 4 weeks now, no issues at all. It does what it is supposed to do; it is accurate and easy to use. No concerns and out of 12 of us in our golf group 5 of us now have the bushnell v2 and no one has had any issues.
To answer your question; The difference is purely cosmetic
To address the above response;Every product will have units that cause issues through faults. Don't think you are buying a substandard product, not a relevant response IMO

The white one is a tour issue. ;)

I've been using mine for 6 months and it works the same the day I bought it. I have dropped it on the concrete cart path a few times also.
It does drain batteries faster then my dads Callaway Diablo.

A whole 4 weeks huh? I had mine for just over 2 years before it refused to work due to an obvious firmware problem that Bushnell refuses to fix. ( I won't re-hash the whole here. Do the search I suggested in my initial post - here and via Goggle). Iit's not just a few units and it's not "issues" - it renders the unit inoperable. As for not being substandard, I define any product that fails while using it exactly the way it was intended to work to be substandard. (Who here would tolerate it if their iPhone or Android phone suddenly decided to brick simply because the battery got low?)

Finally, I think it's relevant any time someone tries relay critical failure information prior to a product purchase. I would certainly hope someone would do the same for me.

I use the Bushnell V2 & golfshot for iPhone, mostly the Bushnell, I've had it a few years with no problem apart from the battery running out, so bring a spare because you don't get a warning.

I appreciate the comments. I think I am going with "Gunmetal Gray" V2. From what I have read it seems most love the V2.

I've had my V2 for two seasons now and it works fine. I had to look under the rubber GPS cover that came with my Patriot Pack edition to confirm the color (grayish/silver?). It works fine - easy to get a reading, accurate and reliable. Mine is still on the original battery, but I don't take a reading on every single approach shot like some do. This laser replaced an unreliable SkyCaddie I previously owned.

I've been using my Bushnell V2 for a year now (got it last Christmas) and it's been great. My only gripe is that it does eat batteries fairly quickly (about a month or two of 3x a week use) and they're not cheap... 2-CR2's run about $14... And, it doesn't give you a low batt. warning - it just stops working (usually out on the course...).
