And if he wants to go ahead with those plans he will need to get town planning approval to install more than 4.

It's highly likely that the PGA will not be at Coolum next year. While that will no doubt be disappointing for many (myself included), I don't think it will make a whole lot of difference to golf in Australia overall. Holding the PGA at any of the Gold Coast courses would allow them to maintain the holiday atmosphere they have at Coolum. Or they could move it to any of the other world-class courses around the country as was the case prior to 10 years ago.

Sorry, but I just don't agree with the whole 'Clive Palmer is an idiot' thing your running with...

i got paired up with a random aussie yesterday at a local course in maryland. we were just slapping it around and i said out of the blue that what the course needed was more robotic dinosaurs. as the look of awareness came over his face (followed shortly by a big shyte-eating grin), i just about fell over laughing.

yes, drinking was involved, but it was still pretty funny.

if i ever make it over to australia, that coolum course is on my 'must-play' list. i think it's hilarious. golf has enough stodgy stuck up places.

With greener technologies needed, how about a course with power generating windmills spread throughout? Have to hit it through the blades.
