Yes it really says 720.00 but I belive on a previous thread someone said you could get them for 699.00 Not sure if that helps any or not. This is why I passed on the shaft, I dont get them to try like RIckie.

That's true. Wouldn't it be nice to have a $700 shaft sent to you in the hopes that you like it so they could send you more! I have no problem with something being worth the money. If this shaft is legendary and out performs everything on the market at $300-$400 then more power to Mitsubishi. If it is just decent or stacks up to the premium $300 shafts then this shaft has bust written all over it (that is if it is produced in large numbers). Is it going to be a limited shaft? Or will it be a retail option like most other Diamanas?

Very nice looking shaft!

I´m loving my kai'li and played the Fubuki for quite some time. The guys at Mitsubishi really know what they are doing.

the specs look pretty damn close to the RIP alpha, slightly lower torque. I'm sure these will be MUCH smoother and better feeling, but for almost 4x the price I'm not sure even I can justify that

its a great shaft ive hit them in all flex from 60s to 70xx
i game th 70 s and i find excellent to play. good distance but also great control
not too stiff. and seriosuly low spin my numbers o n a trackman in an epon 152 head came out sub 2000.
gameing it in a kamui pro kpx 10.5* head , cant complain with it. its pretty perfect.

This has the same problem that most graphite manufacturers have: no heavy options. To not have an 80g weight class is bad enough. What's worse for Mitsubishi is that they haven't made a 100g shaft since the Diamana Blueboard.

How about some heavy shafts? Not all of us are anemic stickboys that get tired swinging shafts heavier than 70g.

Is that a comment in general or about this specific shaft?

If in general, then I agree. If it's about this one, then not so much. They've already limited their market due to the materials and price, no need to limit their market even further by making it that heavy. Plus it's mostly meant for the JDM market where shafts of that weight are even more rare then they are across the pond here.

I need to put some more time into mine, but I quite like it so far.

A little bit of both. I agree with you that the market for this shaft is minimal based on pricepoint. IMO, the mistake that the shaft manufacturers make is that the people that will pay for an upgrade are usually better players that want a heaver, stronger shaft to control their misses better. The other group are people with enough money that they just want the most expensive thing they can buy.

But again, looking at MRC, there hasn't been a wood shaft over 80g made since the blueboard. Up until recently, I still had mine because I hadn't found anything better. PX changed that. They were smart enough to engineer a 100g+ shaft and it's made it into some PGA bags and my own as well.

I do not believe in lighter/longer anyway, so I have no attraction to 50/40/30g shafts. I want something that I can feel. And the accuracy is worth 1-2 yards in distance to me.

Is why I have the v2 96x in my driver and 3 wood...

Hoping that the diamana d+ hybrid shaft will be good
[/quote]

It is. That's the shaft I have coming in an X Hot Pro 16* hybrid. It's still on backorder from Callaway, so I haven't received it yet, but I got the 93g D+ X-flex in it. I had never had so much confidence in hitting a hybrid full bore without fear of it going left. Can't wait to put it in the bag for real.

Even though many people haven't hit the Pro hybrids yet, and even with all the hype around the X Hot Pro fairway woods (which are really, really good) I still think the Pro hybrids are the sleepers Callaway has this year.

Good news, I was thinking the 102g x in a 18* 913Hd or an 18* 913Fd with v2 96x... Will go try both out next month when they arrive at fitting centers.
