Jaime can hit it, but i feel people are gaga over him when Ryan Winther just established the World Record in Ball Speed same day at range.....IDK.....But Yes Jaime is an amazing....There are so many other guys ahead of him....just my 2 cents...
There's always got to be a hater who throws in their $.02 cents. Lame.

The guy is INSANE. Great exposure for him and Callaway XHot. Natural team. Nice!

HAHA Aint no Hater..I talk to Jaime when I see him and tweet and FB and other stuff.....were friends, and hang out when we see eachother....hes a aGREAT HITTER...
Just putting in 2 cents which is OK...isnt it? And anyone who knows me knows I aint lame....Not sure what natrual team means but ok.....

M2....He cant be top 3 since he last three years been top 3 once....and last year he took 4th...Its not even about Krank Guys....if they hit others and finished ahead of him I would still say the same thing....but yes the past three years it has been Krank Guys that beat him...and ball speed and swing speeds he is beat by others at worlds...

IM not smashing on JAIME...im not saying hes a crappy hitter or anything....hes a great guy, friend, person, hitter, rep for our sport all over the world....No more smack talking about someone thinking im talking about him badly....Im not....now positive sayings again about him...

"sources" say that a Callaway Long Drive Team is in the works & Jamie doesn't tie his shoes.
yes on both accounts. 1, he never ties his golf shoes. not in competition either. 2. he's a callaway staffer now and plays the x hot driver.

Yes they can, and have College Baseball Backgrounds. Winther plays in State Opens and on Gateway Tour. Tim Burke was a Pitcher for Miami. Gentry Played on Mini Tours and Many others played either Pro or Semi Pro Baseball and play in Golf Tours. Winther is also TPI Certified and has series he shot with them already. But the top guys I know can play scratch. I know of 5 guys locally here that can go to courses in Valley and shoot 4 under...and they arent top 3.

your point is valid, but slightly exaggerated because I don't feel there are "many other" guys ahead of him. And you know how fickle long drive events can be... wind changes and you lose and take 4th. It happens. He's still top 10 imo and at his age has plenty of years to try to win the title a 3rd time.

anyway, the reason why people are "gaga" over him is because he's 5'11" and 165lbs. he's a freak. the other guys are practically power lifters and built like brick houses. When you see a guy that's built kind of average and no more muscular looking than say Camillo Villegas, hanging with the gorillas on the long drive circuit, people gravitate to that. I'm sure you can understand that.

either way, I haven't seen too many guys hit a 29" driver 400 yards carry, so put me in the category of gaga. I mean, he's no Jack Hamm or anything, but watching his drives wednesday was fun.

Played with him & Art at Grande Pines on Tuesday, they both had RFE drivers in play that day with the driver heads up to the roof of the cart! Wonder which one they're getting higher ball speeds with?

Good question. He mentioned a big jump in ball speed with his new x hot setup over what he was using last year (I thought he said 12mph). Callaway is really smart to pick up the long drive crowd... it sells drivers when you got beasts on your team.

I feel bad for whoever is hitting behind him
Shoot, I don't. That guy probably gained 40 yards from his ball getting sucked up in the vortex...

I was actually hitting right behind him just before he started this demo. I hit it a long way but felt like a 5 year old next to him. Incredible looking swing to go along with the distance. Callaway staff was telling him he may not even be able to hit the comp driver be they were worried about him hitting the vendors on the other side of the range!

Lucky for them, the wind wasn't helping him at all. That range is huge but he was pretty close to shooting cherry peppers up the arses. I don't know how long you stuck around but there were some shots that I thought he was going to drive into vendors. His non competitive driver was still going like 380 carry into the wind, but he did pull out the big boy and all carry was landing it around 400 on the hillside of the deep left part of the range. When you figure the average pga tour player carries the ball 270, to see a guy of the same size as most tour players able to carry the ball 130 yards further is just unreal.

Did you get a chance to hit some balls with his driver?

yeah, the video really doesn't capture how ridiculous it is. 140+mph swing, his ball flight looks nothing like anything I've seen, tiger, bubba or otherwise. He can fly the ball 130 yards+ further than the average pga tour player. Wrap your mind around that one. You watch Tiger on TV ripping a drive that flys a bunker followed by, he crushed that one... yeah, this guy would have air mailed Tigers drive by almost a football field. Are there other guys that can do that, yeah, but NOT a guy that is 5'11" 165lbs.

I saw him hit the 380's with his gamer. I didn't get t see him hit the Comp driver but I know exactly where you are talking about that he was landing it and that is freakish! I did not hit his driver. I would have loved to but probably embaressed myself in front of the masses! HAHA

Hate to bust bubbles again, but 380 with playing driver into wind is pretty tough...heck he didnt even hit that at worlds with this gamer on carry distance. Winther was only one at 398. All LD guys that are big hitters can do the same...again..just letting everyone know, more guys in LD that can do this...they were at Demo day with Golf Pride setting ball speed records and getting these distances...again NOT HATING ON SADS...just informing there are many others that can do this and more....cant wait to see him compete with CALLY though...Joe did great but not his best ....so will be interesting to see how he does.....

Any of those other LD guys under 170lbs and under 6' tall? Yes, there are long drivers out there that can do what he does. They have 140+ mph swings like him. But the reason people admire his ability is simply because it's more remarkable than the older powerlifter / football player type that's 6'4" 250lbs doing it like many on those circuits.... not a young kid that's smaller than even many pga tour pros.

Well yes, Ryan cooper is as slim and not muscular as Jaime but has same speeds as he does, Landon Gentry is no where near NFL linebacker status but more like an avg golfer with an amazing speed and swing and has beat Jaime twice, Mazza is as fast as Jaime and much younger. There are more out there with same speeds and not as big or in shape as he is.....my points have always been, hes not the only one out there and not the only guy in sport or the champ for the past three years. Hes a great amassador for the sport of course, but we have a lot more guys out there as fast and faster....Plus these others and the CURRENT WORLD CHAMP compete in all the LDA Tour events they had.

I saw him at a Golfweek Expo a few years ago. Never saw anything like it. He'd make contact and the ball would disappear - I couldn't see it start out, just had to hope to pick it up later as it fell out of the sky.
