Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana Redboard

Recommended Posts

The new ION Diamana M Red shafts feature a softer tip section and stiffer mid area providing a higher launch angle without ballooning. The Japanese version Diamanas have the Ion finish and flower band unlike the U.S spec versions.

i have a diamana blueboard that performs for me. i'm naturally a high ball hitter. is this shaft more ideally suited for people looking to increase their launch angle? my launch angle average is 13.9 degrees with an 8.5 degree head and a blueboard shaft. i'm enough of an experimenter/grail chaser that i like to try everything. really love the blueboard, but would love to see how a redboard and a white board perform.

The Redboard goes higher and spins more than the Blueboard, the White will spin less than the blue and for most launched a little lower too.

I have an X flex whiteboard 63 in my G10 and it's incredible.....I also have an X flex blueboard 83 in my 3-wood and it's perfect. The redboard will launch it higher and spin it more, however, the whiteboard vs the blueboard is on an individual basis. Some have seen a higher ball flight with the whiteboard (with loads less spin) while others have gotten a slightly higher flight with the blueboard. It really depends on your swing and angle of descent (I believe).

Also, ktbfsu, 13.9 is perfect IMHO.

Need the experts advice. I recently purchased from a board member a 63g x-flex redboard. After installing it in my alpha c830.2 head I found the shaft to be a little stiff. I couldnt get this high launch shaft up in the air. Do you guys think it will play a little softer and closer to a firm flex if I try to install it in my TEE cb2? I really want to give the diamanas a try. Is there anything I can do to make it play a bit softer? maybe get it spined?

my swing speed is only about 105 and i'm roughly a 7 capper.

thanks

the alpha c830.2 is a blind bore hosel with a very shallow bottom of bore to ground measurement (BBGM). i would try reinstalling it at a shallower insertion (1.5-2") since at full insertion in that head the softer tip profile of the redboard will be negated.

if you did not tip it according to standard installation instructions, yes, it would play a little softer than stated flex.

typically the shaft should be inserted fully, but as mentioned, the alpha head has a shallow BBGM and inserting a shaft fully will make it feel tipped or a bit stiffer than in a head with a standard BBGM.

What head do you ahve the redboard in? Ihave it in a low spin head that is not forgiving enough. My swing is 100-105. I have an extra superquad and demo the lv4x whcxih I might try again Love the shaft little extra kick. Vamn hit bombs but need a head w/ a little more love for when I'm spraying

I have a 63 RedBoard in a sumo2 tour 9.5 and the 73 in a 905r 9.5

its a very sold shaft for me i don't spin the ball much and this helps some what (SwingSpeed 110)

The 905R is very sold with this shaft. i can hit draws and fades

the sumo2 tour im not so sure on yet i just hit a few range balls today and some were great and others just fell out of the sky not sure if its the head or the crappy rang balls (they were the yellow ones and a lot of ware on them)

FYI - I'm just recovering from my Achilles Tendon Rupture back in December so that is effecting my swing and getting of my right side...

So using the redboard in a 3 wood would make it feel a little softer?

I thought the shaft has to sit flat (all the way) in the head.

I'm hoping the weight and depth of the 3wood will make the shaft feel softer.

A lot of people that I know including myself converted our bore through Titleist heads so that we can shaft them conventionally. This is the reason that titleist has their own version of the Diamana. The titleist diamana blues are softer. I personally play the BB in a few of my drivers, 2 of them Titleist and both are shafted in at 1.5" instead of the bore through with the true Diamanas.

I have a Reg flex Diamana red in my 3 wood and that thing definitely plays stiff.
