Golf Dresses

I've always preferred dresses and skirts to pants-- I almost always wear them to work, very rarely wear slacks-- and while I do like shorts, which is what I usually wear on the course (and for other outdoors hobbies of mine), I've noticed golf dresses seem to be more in fashion in recent years, or at least, seeing them more often. Found and snagged this cute one on eBay cheap (not specifically listed as one, but looks perfect)- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350316981298 and am watching for others to pick up. But was curious how many here wear them, and for those that do, your favorite designers/sources? Of course, the main issue would seem to be finding ones that fit right and don't fly up, ect.

Couldn't imagine wearing a dress. Skort, maybe. I like to keep things in my pockets, plus that issue of the dress pulling up...I think it would make me feel fidgety, always tugging it back down.

I love golf dresses, and have several. They all have pockets, and in some cases, extra pockets in the shorts that go under them. Those shorts are totally standard "equipment" with golf dresses, making for one to pull up and show your underwear (or whatever else worries you!) a complete non-issue.

Cutter & Buck puts out a dress with pretty much every collection. Virtually always in black, theoretically not ideal for golf when it's stinky-hot, but the DryTec fabrics are super-light and surprisingly comfy in the heat. I'm 5'7" tall, and they're just above knee-length, so they're also surprisingly versatile. I have one sleeveless and one short-sleeved, can wear them for nice dinners out and even business meetings, and they don't wrinkle like other dresses, so I take one on every trip. CB dresses generally retail for $100 to $120, but that's not bad for a whole outfit. Adidas also puts out a dress with every collection. Those are almost always short-sleeved, and generally come in one or two solid colors plus black. Even full retail for the current model/colors is generally under $90, and prior season colors sometimes sell online for around $40 if your size is still available.

Bette & Court is introducing two sleeveless dresses for "Fall" 2013, which means they'll be shipping to pro shops around the beginning of July. One is a blue leaning toward lavender with a design on the right chest, the other is a red, black & white print, both designed to retail for about $100. They're just stunning, and I plan to be styling in both of them.

If your club or wherever else you shop regularly carries at least one of those brands, why not have a word with the manager? if you're willing to pay the regular retail price, bet he or she would be delighted to special-order a dress in your size.
