POLL: Urinating on the course...

I once went to an annual meeting for a private club, and one of the residents whose property backs up the course (and a member) stated quite emphatically that she would call the police if she ever saw people on the course who were peeing. That, combined with the whole sex offender (if caught peeing in public) thing kind of set me straight. It was funny to hear the murmurs throughout the meeting room after she spoke up. I don't think it changed behavior much though....I see the same guys doing it.

Heck, I find I play better if I have some "urgency".
I guess that is another consideration the home owner should have thought about when buying a house on a golf course.

Well, I have no choice but to use the restrooms. I can only deal with one a side (i.e. in the clubhouse and at a halfway house or only in the clubhouse but the 9th takes you there) in midsummer when most water turns to sweat. When it's chillier, a course needs at least a port-a-john on the front and the back, or they're not getting my business.

2 kinds of people who pee inside [s]on a golf course[/s]: Women and... ok i guess there's just one.
There. I fixed that for you. I know that is how you meant it.

To answer the original question: if you drink as much beer as you should on the course, there is no other option.

I try to avoid peeing on the course if i can, but in the heat of an Atlanta summer I drink water non stop. I sweat a lot of it out, but in those conditions, there's no way I can wait for the turn, so I'll find a discrete way to do so.

It's incredibly crass to play " 'scuuuuuze me while I whip this out!!" right next to a tee box or in plain view of someone's back yard. Hey, if you gotta go you gotta go, but at least try to be discrete / polite.

if you gotta go, you gotta go. I'd rather not just because some people aren't crazy about it especially at a nice private course. But if i'm drinking beer and have to go, then so be it....

I just can't understand how people can get through life if they can't anticipate the need to go in ten minutes. Yet certain shrubs next to 2nd and 11th tee boxes have a distinctively different color thanks to them being used as public bathrooms. I use the loo at the turn and before/after the round

I'm not sure how the temperatures in Finland are, but if you play in the midwest during the thick of summer, the hummidity is enough to kill you. Sometimes you have to constantly drink water...a lot of times that leads to having to take a leak before the turn without a stall for a few holes. It just happens sometimes and is unavoidable. It's not pleasant, but just be discreet.

IMVHO I don't think there can be a hard and fast rule one way or the other regarding this, and I'd like to think that every time I've had to go outside of a rest room, that I've used my discretion regarding finding the least inappropriate outdoor target area. That said, the mother in law frequently calls the pro shop to complain about people going outside her house.

Come to think of it, I do have a hard and fast rule. Try not to wear beige slacks while drinking and golfing.

I prefer to go into the woods, portapotties are just gross IMO. I will say I go deep into the woods so noone gets offended. I still remember playing in a tournament with my wife's uncle and cousin. Her uncle got hammered, like normal, and got a little beligerent with some people while we were sitting on the porch of the club. He ended up whipping his junk out and peeing right at one of the women that was giving him crap for his "foul language." They "banned him permanently"...but he was a member again the very next year lol. I have no problem with taking a leak on the course just use some tact and DO NOT do what my wife's uncle did LOL

Some courses only have maybe one restroom on each side so sometimes we have no choice just find a good tree.

I'm in construction and there is nothing more disgusting than a porta-potty. I wont use 'em.
Tree, flower, brush, golf cart...whatever, I'll take a leak behind it, over it, under it, beside it.

Thats standing urine and feces in those things...and people stay in there long enough to try and get witty, with a pencil, pen, marker....disturbing.

Up here they are named "Honey Buckets"...I sh!t you not, it's right on the damn side of the thing....
Traveling shithouse is not my idea of a honey bucket. lol

The average opponent takes 1 minute and 17 seconds to waggle, look waggle etc before hitting a tee shot.

The average male who has to go takes 5 seconds to walk over to the opponents golf bag and pretend to be looking at the clubs while the opponent is teeing off.

The average golf bag top looks surprisingly like a urinal.

The average spectator always watches the golfer on the tee.

The average male takes 27 seconds to urinate.

As a woman golfer, No I do not use trees as restrooms! However, many men on our course do, & it's disgusting, especially since both of our courses have ample restrooms, very well spaced. We girls see no reason why any man would need to use a tree. We've seen men using trees that are pretty much right out in the open & visible to anyone. Heck, some don't even try to hide it at all....I guess they think they're giving us a thrill......believe me, NOT. We did have one woman a few years ago who regularly called the Pro Shop any time she saw a man use a certain group of trees that were in her yard, but nearly on the golf course. I thing the gentlemen had discussions with the Director of Golf about it frequently.

It's really hard to find a tree to piss on when your playing a links course.
This is why I hate links golf. I am 55 and when I have to go waiting till I get to the turn is NOT an option. As most others have said I am discreet and because I play mostly parkland courses I just walk into the tress so I am out of view.

That's funny...in the heat of a humid summer...I'm sweating so much that no matter how much I drink, it never really comes out as pee...it's just sweat...all sweat...I could seriously play 18 and never use the bathrooom.

My high school gym teacher once said that if you refuse to shower after a work-out...it's like peeing all over yourself and letting it dry. His point being that sweat is waste fluids in your system and us guys need to practice good hygiene. For whatever reason...that visual (peeing all over yourself) never left my memory...

I do it all the time on golf courses. I hate restrooms and I especially hate outhouses/shacks. I also do it in my back yard and lots of other places, when I could just go inside. I actually enjoy the fact that because I am a man I can do it outdoors whenever I want and I like to take advantage of this gift of nature.

Once this guy I was playing with took a leak on #10 at Old Warson and there was this sweet house and later I found out the house belonged to Joe Buck, so I thought that was pretty funny.

Heck, I'd go out of my way to pee on Joe Buck's lawn.
