As a woman golfer, No I do not use trees as restrooms! However, many men on our course do, & it's disgusting, especially since both of our courses have ample restrooms, very well spaced. We girls see no reason why any man would need to use a tree. We've seen men using trees that are pretty much right out in the open & visible to anyone. Heck, some don't even try to hide it at all....I guess they think they're giving us a thrill......believe me, NOT. We did have one woman a few years ago who regularly called the Pro Shop any time she saw a man use a certain group of trees that were in her yard, but nearly on the golf course. I thing the gentlemen had discussions with the Director of Golf about it frequently.
No, we don't think we're giving you a thrill. Don't flatter yourself.

We need to go. We can go. We go.

FWIW, I LOVE peeing outdoors. I look forward to it as a part of golf, and being outside. I pee outside every chance I get, golf course or not. I pee at one of the ranges I go to.

I've leaned up against carts in the middle of the fairway before and peed, stood next to my golf bag and peed. If I'm wearing baggy enough shorts, I have a technique where I can go to one knee, and pull it down through the leg and go, but that's advanced peeing, not for the tour rookies.

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...

Some of the longest rounds of my life have been 3-1/2 hours with a lady in the foursome. I'm not out there to embarrass anyone, myself included, but it is often literally painful to hold it for 40, 50, 60 minutes or more until the next offical bathroom comes around.

P.S. There was one time playing at a resort course where I got paired up with a late-middle-aged couple in a cart. They were polite and friendly to play with but it was one of those 4:45+ resort rounds on a packed course. Before things got too desparate I noticed that when we got to one particular tee box with some woods adjacent, the lady uncharacterisically got out of the cart and walked around a curve in the cart path where we could not see her. I scurried off into the wood and did what I had to do.

I'm pretty sure she deliberately did that, knowing that was the first conceivable wee-wee spot we had seen since leaving the clubhouse. She did it again on a hole late in the back nine. Otherwise she stayed in the cart the whole time. Must be used to playing in mixed groups with men. Unless she was sneaking off for her own "personal reasons" which I very much doubt!

Haha, I did this once in high school during a paintball game because I was too scared to turn my back to the field.

You and my old man should host a class. I saw him walking behind some shrubs, I am like wtf is he doing? Piss'n... while walking...

I voted #1 but the issue of a private course is an issue for me too. EVERY private course I have played has bathrooms on the course so I just wait to use those. If I were on one that didn't and I really had to go, i would ask the member host what the consensus is...if they said have at it...then I would but I am representing that member so I can't be rude and "be that guy".

THAT being said, I play a couple times a year with a female coworker and I am respectful to her. If I have to go I wait till we are near a VERY wooded area and I excuse myself. We played 2 years ago and walked up to a tee box with a guy **** in hand letting it fly. She saw him fully exposed and shook her head. I went right up to him that I better not see that again or there would be an issue, he knew there was a lady behind his group. MOST of the courses in MA are very wooded/tree lined...there is plenty of opportunity to go hide in the woods....not on the tee box!

I have no problem going whenever and wherever I feel the need.
I also don't have a problem with anyone else doing it.
But I keep hand sanitizer in the bag and I'll "clean up" when I'm done.
Unfortunately not everyone does that , and it's pretty uncomfortable when someone tries to give you a high five for your monster tee shot, or shake your hand after a round with their dirty piss hand.

My playing partner pees on every hole. I don't pee much during the day. I save it for when I sleep. Then I get up every hour and a half to take a wiz. I don't like it but at 66, that's just the way it is.

Friend says, " I'll never drink water unless it comes from a stream, natural spring" etc. So I say, " Do you think Yogi and Bambi avoid the stream/spring when they go?" Hmmmmmmmm, Animals and critters go when they have to and so do I. Lucky there are lots of woods on my course. As OPs said be very, very careful. It can lead to an indecent exposure charge then you register as a sex offender.

I pee on the course, but wait til I am in the woods. It helps the pace of play!! Plus, it's like camping. I have known many ladies who have no issues with "popping a squat" while outdoors. One time I was at a course called Delaware Springs and I was standing next to a huge cactus peeing. I thought I saw this bush by me move, but figured it was a rabbit. About that time a fawn burst out and I peed all over myself.

I would just say that at the very most 10% of UK courses have on course facilities. Pissing on course is therefore a necessity (once you find a good spot)

I wait until there is an available restroom. I don't really care if someone else does it, but I hope they do it in the bushes behind the tee box. If they do it anywhere else, there is a chance that someone in a group behind might come into contact with it. Yuck.

It's really hard to find a tree to piss on when your playing a links course.

LOL!! A couple years ago we were playing Old Mac and one of the guys in our group had a female caddy. Felt the need to go on the 12th tee, but options for cover on that course are severely limited. Had to wait until we finished 15. Definitely picked up the pace of play.

Yes I pee on the course, however, I am courteous enough to jump into the wood line to do so. I am not going to whip it out and start spraying all over the place, especially on the tee box.. Why would I pee on the tee box. Every person touches the tee box while placing their tee/ball... That's just gross.

I just can't understand how people can get through life if they can't anticipate the need to go in ten minutes. Yet certain shrubs next to 2nd and 11th tee boxes have a distinctively different color thanks to them being used as public bathrooms. I use the loo at the turn and before/after the round
I'm not sure how the temperatures in Finland are, but if you play in the midwest during the thick of summer, the hummidity is enough to kill you. Sometimes you have to constantly drink water...a lot of times that leads to having to take a leak before the turn without a stall for a few holes. It just happens sometimes and is unavoidable. It's not pleasant, but just be discreet.
Exactly, take off into the woods and watch for the poison ivy! Fringe benefit you may find a stray new ProV1...BB
Forgot all about this one... I'm not going to shoot anyone for doing that and if you're on the 5th or 14th and you need to go, go. But I just can't understand the people who don't use the bathrooms at the clubhouse before the round or at the turn (or whatever half-way posts courses have) but use the bushes next to the 2nd or 11th tee boxes. :busted_cop:
