IM_ROB's WITB

Recommended Posts

******Updated 3/3/15**********

I thought I would add a little bit about myself to go along with my WITB.

I am a PGA Apprentice out of the Northern Ohio Section. I am a Network Instructor for Stack and Tilt, and mostly recently I am the Director of Instruction for Purestrike 5 Simple Keys in Northern Ohio. I have been an Apprentice for 4 years, but not made much progress. I am still at Checkpoint 1.

If you have any questions about either swing, programs or philosophies please feel free to ask

My Swing as of 3.3.15. First swing is with training aids in place. I have a 3' bungee around my right arm and a Medicus Crush-it under my left foot. The last two swings are natural with not training aids in place. Feel free to comment

Sick bag- why no speeder in the 3 wood?
Thats why I went 42.75 in the Speeder. Those two shafts can be exchanged depending on how I am hitting the ball and what I am likely to do with the club. If I wont be using it off deck, I can play the 3 wood as a mini driver otherwise the versatility of the a'hina makes a better choice.

I had the opportunity to play 9 holes with Rob two nights ago and he really strikes his new Anser irons well. I had no impact on his decision to play the new Anser irons... Lol.

Nice bag Rob!!!

I think they really helped my game. I wear a Med Cadet glove. The smaller grips definitely allowed me to grip the club properly and it also prevented me from wearing out so many gloves. In the past, no matter how much I focused on proper grip, I still wore out the gloves in the palm. This year it did not happen once. I am sold for life.

S4L?

That's a fantastic swing you have there ROB.

Yezzir! Sold for life

We got the S55 Demo in. I hit it a few times. Ansers, to me, are so much better. Center hits feel the same, but the off-center hits are at least a club short.
Great looking bag! How do you like the i25 3 wood?
I like it. The racing stripes really help you line up the shot. I hit a couple on the Trackman. 152 ball speed, 11 LA, 4300 spin, 236 yds carry. That was off the deck. I know there are fairways that are hotter but this fills the gap between driver and hybrid nicely.

You have a finely tuned set, and one I admire. Looking at a bag like this is giving me the itch to have another look at the upper end of my bag, specifically shafts.

Nicely done!

Your bag looks good. I like how you did the breakdown Golf Digest style. Your distance with each club seems similar to mine. Were you fit for the TFC 189 Stiff, or did you go with what felt best? It seems like your scores are pretty good, I am just curious.

I purchased the R1 and had my club builder match a shaft to it. However I have a feeling he thought another head would have been a better place to start with my swing.

I picked up the other two without going through a fitting. Correct shaft? Correct length? Could I find better dispersion? That's where the doubt is creeping in.

Yeah, I am guessing you could tighten things up with a more appropriate shaft. Of course I am going off distance only. I have never seen your swing or swing speed numbers.

I am a huge fan of the VTS Hybrid shafts. That is one I would consider first. The Aldila RIP is solid also. In the fairway I would check out the Fujikura Fuel or the Aldila Phenom NL. The new Aldila Tour series for fairway and hybrid is good also. There really are so many good choices right now.
