PGA Tour Driving Distance

 

 

 

Only 26 players out of the entire PGA TOUR average 300.0 or greater per drive. So how is it that we have over 26 junior golfers on this site who average more than 300.0? :help: :tongue:

Please just let it go. The only thing that matters is the score and the end of 18 holes. Let the guys think they hit it 300 plus. Don't worry about it. Turn the page.

Although many of us have said they can hit it 300 + (including myself) i know that i DID NOT say that i averaged 300 + yards... i know that i averagearound 290-295...and my Dad has calculated this while i was playing in tournaments recording my stats as i go along includin: Driving distance, fairways hit, greens hit, up and downs, putts, second fairways hit(fairways hit on layup on par 5's), he does a grat job and we use a system that i believe a member on here developed called swing stats or something like that (ill check it later)...we use the cards he sent us but havent put any stats online yet.

 

So i DO know what my distances are and they are pretty acurate too...and just to bring up another point about distance..... My father and swing coach both emphasize 80% of ur power and keep the ball in play and your scores will be better. I employ that every round just so if i need more i know its in the tank. DONT JUST SAY THAT PEOPLE ARE LYING BECAUSE YOU DO NOT REALLY KNOW... now lets get offf of this topic because im getting annoyed with it since its the majority of the posts in the junior golf forumn..... lets start some new topics and discusions!!!!

Lets start a new junior thread of WITB, as well as pictures of yourself and your swing as there is in other threads but lets do it JUNIOR STYLE.... us juniors only so we can check each others equipment and swings...this site is meant to be a friendly place where we can discuss and help each other with problems.

I know, I agree with you. I am just providing stats to go along with my side of the argument. Short game is far and away more important.

They only measure certain drives for these stats. It is NOT an average of all the players drives. Look at Scott Hend, through 73 rounds they only looked at 146 drives (that's 2 drives a round). Same for the rest. They also play in high humidity climates, at sea level, and wet conditions (where the ball is not going to fly or roll as far as other places). If Tiger played in Arizona or Colorado year round he would average 350. Why do you care so much what a junior on here says he can hit the ball?! Some may be stretching it a bit much and some may not. Who cares? GIVE IT A REST!

Tour players focus on fairways, if they hit it 320, that a whole lot of time to get ofcourse by the wind or any mostake looks huge. They dont swing for the fences like half the kids here probably do. so technically your evidence is flawed..... ;)

you guys all need to tone it down...

 

and dont forget... PGA driver distance is only taken on a few holes...WHEN THEY HIT THE FAIRWAY.. so the evidence is NOT flawed.
