looking for shaft suggestions
Just curious what everyone is using and why or why not?
fully inserted? tipped, ball flight?

I am recieving a 905T 9.5 with Pro95 S fully inserted(I have used this in FW, but never in a driver...).. current favorite shaft is the Aldila VS Protos....But I really want to here what people are having sucess with in the 905... i'm a shortknocker with 105+ SS.. typicially like X flex in non titleist drivers...
thanks

:help: I know what you mean. I too have played it in 3 woods, but never a driver. Too heavy for me in a driver I would think, Ari seems to love em though. An S fully inserted should play pretty good.

Why not throw a VS proto in there, I'm sure you have a couple laying around...

 ;)

What kind of ball flight are you looking to get out of the 905? My buddy has a 9.5 w/ 757 and the ball flight is great and hits mid height penetrating bombs (although the shaft is still a little heavy for my taste).

905T 9.5* w/speeder 757 stiff inserted all the way.... play great i love the feel.... i personally like heavy shafts which feel a little more like a pole than whippy like the NV's.

I went up to the 9.5* bc my coach suggested to try it since it would give me that little bit more of control. I am hitting it a little too high currently, i know how to manipulate ball flight so im good....in the spring im gonna switch to the 905R 8.5* and either stay with the Speeder 757, or go to the Diamana 83, the pro 95 in the 905T plays great i think you'll like it. a friend of mine has it.

I've got your standard garden variety V2 in mine. I took a chance by putting it in as I had never hit it before, but after some time with it, I love it. It's real tight, might be a little 'boardy' for some, but I like the feeling that the clubhead is right with me through my swing. I know most guys like a smoother shaft, but that gives me the sense the club is lagging behind. I don't get that with the V2. All in all, it's long, real tight dispersion, and great trajectory--up high (without ballooning) and flattens out like a rocket. I coudn't be happier.

I have my 905T 10.5 with Fujikura Zcom 74 X. The shaft has incredible feedback and outperforms with other Fujikura's shafts. I've got fits on six, speeder 757, speeder 757 tour spec, and diamana 63 in other drivers. Zcom is just the best among other shafts in stability, feedbacks from head, and feeling. I would suggest that you can try to test the other shafts to know the differences and it will help you make the best decision of the best shaft for you.

Zcom MW 54x. Would work well in that combo.

I got a S 10.5 but put in the Accra SC65 as it is a lower hitting shaft. Very solid feel. I also went one flex softer as I had it fully inserted 3.5 inches.

I have been think about trying this shaft as well- One thing that I don't have to get a softer flex as these have the extra 2" tip... so what sort of ball flight do you get with the zcom and this head?... I current have a Tour 983K with VS proto X inserted 2" in a blind bore and I could go another 1/2"... but full insertion would be a bit much for my wimpy swing... but the nice thing about the VS is that it seems to have brought the spin and ball flight down to a reasonabloe level. and honestly I just love the K after playing all the huge 460 heads.. it still feel nearly as forgiving to me but with a very satisfying thwack... so I though maybe the 905 could be a improved version..I guess I'll find out... but I will say there is something very refreshing about playing an "old and small' driver and killing it(in my standards anyway).. but if the 905 doesn't cut it..please form a line in the BST for the Tour 905T 9.5 with XXXXX? shaft

I'm in the same exact boat as you. Tour "average" SS of 105 to 108mph and a high 150's for ball speed.

If it's going in a TITLEIST I would get a S-flex shaft and install it all the way. I suggest the 757 SPEEDER S, the Diamana 73 or 83 S (order it thru Titleist Custom Dept.), The NV 75 or 85 S-flex, and if you like 'em HEAVY..... a Graphite Design YS-9.1+ S.

You can also try the Proforce V2 shaft.... a 75 S.

Just a few ideas. I have hit all of these.

905T 9.5* with a ZCom TW64, right now I can't hit a cows @rse with a banjo, but when I first got it (and still had what looked like a decent driver swing) this thing went miles, helped find quite a few fairways, got a lovely high/flat ball flight and was able to turn the ball both ways, however right now I can only turn it one way, and thats not on purpose...

905S 10.5* with ZCom MW54, not really given this one a chance, tried to sell it a couple of times, thought I had recently but buyer backed out in the end, so to hell with selling it, I'll give it a bash at the range while I decide which XDrive to go for.

Shaft felt a bit too soft and really had to back off if I wanted to get any sort of result from it, maybe my new swing will make this combo work a bit better otherwise I may have to try and sell it for the third time.
