Project X wood shaft in a hybrid (17*)

What should I expect?

I've got the Nike T-100 hybrid 17* and they are absolutely pure heads but the only negative side is that its a .335 tip and none of the hybrid shafts fit. I was going to a fuji 952 but too dear..... So I am getting a Project X 6.0 wood shaft in it. Has anyone tried a fairway wood or hybrid combo with this?

I have a Nickent with a .355 in it. Its a 13* that I use to hit really low. I rarely take it with me, but if it is windy and I know ahead of time then I will take it in place of the 3 wood.

 

I have hit a .335 in a hybrid and it worked fine as well. Make sure you get the shaft cut or ordered properly to make it the right flex.

I recently switched from a 21° 585H with a 106g graphite (USD irod hybrid tour 100) to a 19° 585H with a Project X 6.0. The ball flight is, of course, lower, whether that's only due to the lower loft I can't say for sure. I don't think so, I'd say it's both shaft and head.

It takes some more effort to get the length into the balls but it's the purest "wood" I've ever seen or hit. It actually feels a lot more like an iron than a wood now, which is what I intended :beruo: The UST irod, even though "tour" release, sucked: When I hit it pure, I could feel it kink.

i have a project x 6.5 in my 17* 585.h and for some reason the PX shaft feels very whippy in a hybrid. Maybe its just me!

i swapped the stock Aldila NV Hybrid 85S in my 17° 585h for a PX 5.5 in order to have the club feel more like a 2I than a 5W. it worked - lower ballflight and tighter dispersion. i did find, however, a marginal loss of distance probably due to the increased weight (it's a sledgehammer at E0 right now).

 

all that being said, i've got a new, uncut Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara Hybrid shaft that i'm itching to try out.
