Harbour Pointe 3/31/2013

Played it for the first time - as far as I can tell, the course is in average condition. The fairways were dry and not plugging. The greens were punched a month ago and still haven't fully recovered yet - they were rolling inconsistently. Nice sand in the bunkers. Sunday twilight play was a little backed up.

I played TPC Snoqualmie a week and a half ago after the heavy rains. Course was in great shape, a few soggy spots, but totally understandable, greens were really good for March.

I played Moses Pointe last weekend and it was in great shape for April. Greens were a little long, but the course is firm, the rough is long, it is a good challenge - the 30mph winds sure didn't make it any easier.

I played Willows Run the weekend before that and it was horrible, which I guess is to be expected. Greens were bad, standing water everywhere.

I am playing down in Oregon this weekend and will shoot an update on here after I get back.

Played Washington National on Sunday in pouring rain and soupy fairways. Went back Tuesday morning (shhhh) and couldn't have been more different. 50+ and mixed sun/clouds. The fairways were punched recently so they dried quickly from Sunday and were actually a bit sandy. A duck actually landed in a small pond of standing water in the front of the tee on #4, but that was gone by Tuesday. The greens were running nicely on Tuesday, but the pins were insane. I caught up to the kid placing them on back and he said UW was practicing them that afternoon and wanted it tough. With no upcharge on the Oki spring pass for WaNa, it's a good bargain right now.

Played Foster earlier this week. Surprisingly dry but they do have huge puddles (more like ponds) of standing water in places. Bunkers were full of water but the visible water was the only wet areas.

Playing Jackson tomorrow. Will report.

Played Desert Canyon last friday 4/5. Fairways were great, but alot of the greens had some hideous fungus attack them. They still rolled OK for th most part.
Played Harbor point last week. Mediocre shape at best. Lots of sand in the fairway on a couple of holes, big aeration holes in a few fairways as well.
Most everthing on the north end is still recovering from aeration.

Redmond Ridge 4/16/2013. The fairways are in great shape and I didn't get any plugged balls, even though it's been rainy lately. Still not getting any roll (a couple of driver shots actually came back), but that's to be expected for this time of year. The rough is still being cut short. The greens have recovered from aeration and are rolling well. There was some standing water in the bunkers, but that was probably due to a downpour which finished about an hour before I played.

I played West Seattle GC last Saturday and Sunday. Saturday it was pretty soft in the fairways & rough. By Sunday it had turned into a quagmire with overnight rains. Pretty sad since it was starting to firm up before the last two weeks of rain. Oddly enough, the greens are rolling pretty fast considering all the rain.

Played The Home Course today. Greens were sandy and slow compared to how they usually run. Bunker sand was more like concrete but the course was dry and that's all that really matters for the weather we've been having.

Washington National again today. Since they sanded heavily a few weeks ago, the course isn't spongy or sloppy at all, but there are still lots of loose turf areas. The greens are running great and the bunkers are all raked and in good shape. The wash areas area have some standing water in places, but overall play easier than normal as the sand is compacted.

West Seattle hasn't been aerated in a while, but there are still signs where the last aeration hasn't healed completely in some places.

I played Lake Spanaway on Sunday and the course was surprisingly firm. The greens were rolling okay but there are some bad spots. A little more sun and warm weather like today and they should start to come around.

I played the Classic yesterday. The greens, just like Oakbrook, were punched back in late February/ early March and appear to be totally healed. Both courses are rolling well and have firmed up considerably over the last month.

I'm playing Trophy Lake on Saturday - does anyone have an update on the conditions out there? Thanks.

I heard it was in really nice shape. The greens got some disease like 1-2 years ago, which totally killed play. Apparently it is back though. The greens are in good shape as are the fairways... can't comment on other parts though. It drains fairly well, so you should get some roll. Awesome course, I've only played it half a dozen times though.

Bellevue Muni on Wednesday. I was shocked by how firm the fairways are. There's still some soupy spots, but overall they were VERY hard. They punched the greens recently, so still sandy. Give it two weeks and it'll be awesome.
