I have had two Byrons a GS DH-89 and a 711. No experience with Machine though. I must say that the experience on both occassions with ordering a Byron was great and I was fortunate enough to be able to go to the shop to watch him work on them. Whatever I asked him to do, his answer typically has been "I can do that". I don't have the 711 anymore as I recently sold it to a fellow GolfWRX member(I was stupid), but since you are contemplating this exact model, I wanted to show you what my putter looked like. As you can see from the pics, it was a bit over the top with the crazy twist neck and blue oil fade finish, but the putter felt great. I even got to see Byron do the twist on the neck (he had never done a crazy twist or a twist on a standard PN - he usually does twists on a long neck) which was great.
