michelle wie using nike ignite+PDI?

did anyone notice that in the first round that michelle wie was using the nike ignite+PDI driver. its nike supposed composite driver that is only available in japan and if you want to see it go to tourspecgolf.com. personally i think it sets up better than the sq tour.wish they had them here in the states.

The DFI has been talked about here as well. She seemed to go back to her old driver and V-steel.

If the images are correct, that driver is not the Ignite+ DFI. The Ignite+ DFI is a non-conforming club in the US but not in Asia. It has a composite crown, with 6A-4 titanium body and Distance Force Injection NexTi face, same material currently used in the SQ. The Ignite+ DFI has been out for awhile now in Japan and here are two interesting notes: (1) Nike waited for the SQ to introduce the NexTi; and (2) the sole of the Ignite+ DFI is the same design as the crown of the SQ! Long story short ... it appears that we are a year, may be longer, behind the technology Nike introduced to the Japanese market!

im not going to contradict the last reply but i believe that when i was looking at the conforming list on the usga i believe it said that it was legal over here. but i could be wrong

Good question. The DFI+ comes with the Diamana Amorphous shaft, 45 grams, 4.5 torque and mid kick point. I have one brand new pulled with the plastic wrapper still on the grips.

thats incorrect on the nexti. the ignite (410 and460) has nexti technology. i wouldn't say we are behind, as much as people in Japan take the game so serious and while spend so much money on equipment, where this driver would not sell well here, costing nike money.
