6-iron: (not pictured) Mizuno MP-67, DG S300, lie 2 up and ½" longer (found an old demo club and bought it so I can figure out with the exact same head-shaft combo whether I need to bend and lengthen all of my clubs or not)

60.06: Vokey Spin Milled

Great set of sticks! I am really liking those shoes. How comfortable are they? I have a pair of the Mizuno Stability shoes and they are comfortable, but I prefer to wear True Linkswear.

The thing is, I haven't worn them on a course yet, I bought them from a sale in early autumn and I didn't want to take them out on a wet course. Out of the box they didn't feel as comfy as Adidas 360 Tours but they were good enough for me to buy. I am thinking about buying a pair of stability or light style shoes as the Adi shoes are wearing down pretty badly from the inside.

Played my first round with the Betti, there simply isn't any competition between it and and the Ping. My putter choice is :lock:

Today the hottest driver is 9.5* Ping i20 with Aldila Rip'd NV x-stiff. :)

A couple of weeks ago I went to a demo day simply to test the MP-650 driver, fairway woods and hybrid. After having played 9 holes and about an hour on the range hitting demo clubs quite intensively, I took my 9.5* Ping i15 (with TFC700D stiff), the MP-650 (Orochi Red Eye stiff) and W/S D100 (Ozik stiff) drivers to Trackman monitor to find out the i15 was the longest and second most accurate. The problem was even that one had the ball spinning at around 4500. But with very little juice left in the tank, I didn't feel like starting the search for the correct driver head and shaft combination. What I do remember was that at that point my swing speed was around 104 MPH with the driver.

Yesterday we went to the course early on and picked up some used clubs to try on the range. Namely I had MP-630 and G20 drivers alongside some 16*-18* hybrids. Luckily my friend grabbed an i20 (I had shied away from it for the x-stiff label on the shaft). None of the clubs I had picked really worked so I finally decided to give the i20 a go. And boom, what a difference in the ball flight. The ball actually went up because I shot it there, not because of the down spin ballooning it in the end.

I simply had to trade in my i15 for it after testing it during the round and continuously out-driving my friends (we're usually quite even). I might not be supposed to use x-stiff but this thing seems to work for me. Even though it's x-stiff, the torque is still 3.2 so it's not causing me trouble.

I'll try to get some photos in soon.

Today I got my BC-2, 33", 355 grams. Pictures to follow. Looks nice, even though I need to get used to the black finish but the feel is unbelievably soft.

If you wear those shoes to the bar, 9 times out of 10 you are getting some hot action that night. Those are righteous!

They're still in pristine condition, up on a shelf on display. Getting 9 hot chicks on 10 nights out might not be worth letting some drunk step on them etc. though :D

Anyhow,

Here's the i20 driver with Aldila RIP'd NV 65 x-stiff and GP MC white, midsize grip:

Christmas came early this year. :) (Or probably this should've been Christmas 2011)

P1010290.JPG

MP-650 driver and 5 wood with the stock Fujikura Orochi Red Eye Stiff shafts (plus a Mizuno woolly hat).

If these work out, they'll replace the Ping i20 driver and i15 5-wood. Then I'll need to find the 3-wood somewhere or the 19* hybrid if the 5 wood is as long as people say. If they don't work, I can probably sell them at a profit.

Drivers: MP-650 on the left, i20 on the right.

P1010326.JPG

The 650 5 wood (18*) is above and the i15 (18.5*) below, there really isn't that much difference.

And my bag for the next round - make no mistake, the umbrella is Mizuno, the plastic logo has just gone AWOL:

The i15 fairways are smaller, 3w is 142cc and 5w 135cc, while the 650s are 159 and 146 respectively and it does show at address.

The face of the 650 looks bigger than the i20 as it is slightly deeper but it also seems a bit wider. I can't wait to go try these out but I wouldn't like to scratch them either as they look so beautiful.

Nice looking bag right there. Is the 650 driver going to beat out the i20?

Loving the 650's, Those Fairway woods are bombers for sure! I really like that BC2 putter, good stuff in the bag!
[/quote]

Thanks! There's a used BC-3 available that I'd like to order but maybe I should just stick with these two for now. :)

We'll see what happens with the driver. During the summer I demoed plenty of drivers and my old i15 was the longest and close to most accurate. The problem was even though it was the longest, it was ballooning with the stock shaft. Then I ran into the used i20 and it blew the i15 away so I'm quite sure there aren't many drivers that would beat the one I'll stick with.

If my woods are set, that leaves no other option than to tinker with my irons next season. :)

I haven't had a chance to go out and hit the clubs again but I made some calls to pro shops around the country today and found the MP-650 3 wood, 15* and the Orochi Red Eye stiff shaft. The shop has an Autumn clearance sale and it cost about 185 USD (I was afraid I'd need to dish out closer to 260 if I ever found one). The store is over a hundred miles away in another city but my brother lives there so he went to pick it up. I can't wait to get my hands on it and try it out.

I should be pretty much set for 2014 with possibly only the 58* wedge needing replacement, T4 or R12.

Well... The Masters are on the telly, I washed my ClicGear, oiled some parts, adjusted the front wheel, filled it with pencils (sharpened them), pitch fork, peanuts, tees and whatnot. Filled the bag, checked that clothes are ready and I'm set. The first tee time of the season is in 16 hours and 37 minutes. The only thing that didn't go to plan today is that it has been raining all day and there's no chance to go out to the range to get a bit more practice in.

It certainly looks like I'll be starting the season with an all-Mizuno bag as I don't seem to have the needed swing speed the X on the shaft of the Ping asks for at the moment. The i15 fairway woods did lose their spots to the 650 during the range session I've had so far and I doubt they're ever coming back. I was also pondering about taking 7-P from the 67s but I guess it's better to start off with the easiest of my setups.

Luckily I live alone so I can bring the ClicGear indoors, I'm not sure any better half would appreciate such a move. :D

To be honest, I have no idea as they're an old model and a quick search didn't provide many results. There's one seller on eBay but the asking price is quite high. The model name is MP Leather if you go searching for them. Happy hunting!

My first new toy this year has arrived! MP-T4 58.10 White Satin, with Golf Pride MultiCompound blue Mizuno grip (2 tapes). I should've probably bought two as it's a beauty and my photographs don't do it justice. I hate the idea of taking it out tomorrow and spoiling its looks. Luckily enough the T5wedge didn't look as good to me so I'll probably pick up a 52* from a clearance sale somewhere in the winter.

I also added a photo of the blue WinnProX 1.18 I had put on my Bettinardi C-01H earlier this year. I'm quite sure I'l return to normal-sized grips once that one wears out.

Weird, I bought a new club for the second day in a row. So far I've been through several hybrids and demoed plenty of others with the MP-650 hybrids being the only ones I could hit half decently. I was possibly a bit stupid not to buy one a year or two ago when they would've been easily available.

Today I decided to pick up a 19* version with the Orochi Red stiff shaft. Cost me 100 USD and I had almost $80 left of a gift certificate so no big loss there.

Now the family is full although the driver isn't my gamer.

The new bag is here - the Mizuno Tour Cart Bag.

For whatever reason the blue colour seems to change every time I upload the photo from my computer, it's the darker Mizuno blue in reality.

I have two issues with the bag - firstly the divider certainly loses to Ogio's Woode System and the putter well becomes impossible to use when the rain hood is on. Secondly the lacking front handle might require an adjustment period. The handle can be found on the back side but I'm not going to use that one to lift the bag into the car etc.

Other than that, I'm liking the bag more and more even though it's massive looks require a bit of adjusting in my eyes.

My third Mizuno Bettinardi, the BC-4, 35" and a 330-gram head.

I was disappointed at the condition it is in as the pictures didn't show all the dings and how worn the bottom is but it is what it is. What it is is a putter that fills the criteria I've been "fitted" for. The length, toe-balanced head, the flare-tip hosel and 35" shaft are what I'm supposed to need and neither of the two other putters meet the requirements.

Hopefully a new coat of white paint to the sight line and a new grip will bring this one back to life. I just put a great Winn grip on my BC-2 and I hope I can find another one somewhere as I can't find it even on their web site.

About a month ago the MP-650 replaced the i20 as my driver of choice. My swing speed was just dropping, the x-stiff shaft wasn't helping me, sothe stiff shaft in the 650 works better for me now.

But after playing a round today I traded in my MP-57s without even testing my new toys - used MP-54s 4-P with KBS Tour stiff shafts. I love the feel of the KBS Tours, Mizuno Swing DNA puts me to KBS Tour X-Stiff soft stepped, so the stiffs aren't that far off, especially on the back 9. Now I just need to get a 3 iron to go with them, probably the H5. I don't usually buy clubs without testing them but now was a good time. I got 170 for my beat up MP-57s and these cost 280, so not bad.

Start of the season bag.

The only completely new club is the MP-H5 3 iron but I feel like the 54s are new also as those late autumn rounds don't really give much of a feel for the clubs. It'll be interesting to see how they work out early in the season. I might have them bent a couple of degrees upright and possibly slightly weaker if the end up being longer than the 57s I had previously.

It'll be interesting to see if I need to move back to the i20 and which one of my putters will steal the number one spot. Last year the BC-4 stole the spot with BC-2 as a good second choice. In fairness I should probably start the season with the C-01H. :)

DSC06790.JPG

Edit. Missing the cut were the two W/S 1 irons, the MP-57 3 iron, the MP-67 6 iron bent 2* up, the ladies' 6 iron, Ping i20 driver, the Nike driver and MP-650 3 hybrid.

That's a bag of pure sex appeal right there. I just put the 650 5 wood in the bag and it's a monster off the tee, a bit tougher from the deck with our dormant thin muddy based fairways in Southern Maryland. Always wanted to try the driver.
