Chew: What are you dippin?

First day without having a pinch at all, I have been pretty irritable all day though lol. Dip made me have some bad anxiety and almost depression in a way, anyone else feel that?

I have been dippin for about 4 years now and have finally decided to stop.

How long do you guys keep your dip in? I usually cant go over 1 hour.

I haven't quit but I've definitely cut down, I started dippin Skoal which is nothing compared to Grizzly. I pack mine for 45 min max but I usually only keep my dips in on the course for about 10 minutes, just to get a quiz buzzer headed down the fairway.

Im supersticious about my dip on the course. If I hit a bad shot w/ it - comes out. Hit a good shot, add to it.....

I was the same way in baseball, I would keep one in until I didn't get a hit. Really makes for a dry mouth on the rare 5/5 days haha. But superstition always won out

Thats where I started with it as well. Love the average after the 4/5 days, but the gums were toast!

Down here in FL for a week and got my first can of Southern Blend and it was definitely worth the wait. Kind of like a sweeter Copenhagen natural long cut/sweet tea tasting. Out in Arizona we can't get southern blend. Gonna buy a log before I leave tomorrow.

As others have said, it's not necessarily the nicotine addiction that is hard to kick, it's the oral fixation.

Just did some Googling and it turns out that if you have a Costco membership you can buy a log of Cope Southern Blend for $10 and have it shipped to your house.

i'm really curious about this stuff. A guy on YouTube says that the flavor lasts for over an hour. He was dippin wintergreen like me and said that the flavor lasts only about 30 minutes. That's about how long I find wintergreen flavor to last. Can't beat it for $10 a log.

I have a tin of southern blend right now as a matter of fact, I would say it lasts about 45 minutes for me. It could be that I just get tired of it and take it out. Like others mentioned, dipping throws me off on the course. However, if I'm having a bad day I'll throw one in and take down a couple of brew ha's.

Side note... still remember one of the kids I was paired up with in a high school tourney got dq'ed by a coach from another school for dipping. It was hilarious trying to see him argue it. Especially since he offerred me a pinch multiple times during the round.

If any of you southerners wanna hook ya boy up with a log of southern blend let me know how much it'd be. I got a log in FL but it won't last long. Definitely my favorite and its sooooo easy on the gums.

This may sound awful, but I posted earlier in the thread, and I have moved to Cope snuff with a shot of Crown Royal in it to make it easier to pack. I put in in 15 minuites before I tee off, double the size on the 6th hole, double it again on 13, and take it out after the teeballl on 18. It ends up being about a 1/2 can every round, but like you guys say, its superstition. I always drink plenty of water, so I never get that cotton mouth.

Noboy I play with can believe I do it that way, but I do. Have for a year or so. As a guy put in my senior yearbook, "spittin black till the day I die" awful saying, but it is an addiction.

I dont know if any of you have tried this, but I just found Cope wiskey blend down in a convienience store in Myrtle Beach. Last can they had. It isnt bad. Has the taste of the stuff I use, but without having to mix it. Not bad. Flavor has lasted for about an hour ten so far

Had a chick buy me a pitcher of beer for giving her a dip once. 1986. Hays, Kansas. She and I sat there, shared a spitoon, and watched a 1986 World Series game...the infamous Bill Buckner ball thru the 5hole in game 6.....I was totally grossed out - yet strangely curious as well.
