It really was. He is working at golf camp for a few days, but he should be getting some video up next week. Of course, I need to ingrain it, but I saw the potential. Multiple times I'd say, "wow, that was the greatest [insert club here] I've ever hit."

I don't think I hit many by him, maybe one when he hit a low hook.
I held my own in our little competitions (short game, putting, driving). He's really, really, really good at golf.

He also noticed how open my driver face was at address. Square to my eye was 10+ degrees open, no joke. When he set it square, I felt like I'd hook it off the planet. Nope, straight boring flight.

I might even make it to the qualifier course to get some putting and short game in. Completely different greens and rough than my course only 10 minutes away.

It is supposed to pour all day tomorrow.

It is definitely limiting. I got back in town last night and luckily hit a pocket of good weather. I got a good two hours of practice in.
I will probably be able to practice this evening, but tomorrow is lost. That is disappointing since the qualifier is first thing Friday morning.

Course is planned out. I know the approaches and green complexes very well. I had never played from the Championship tees, so I planned out my tee shots. With the course playing LONG and wet, I will hit driver a lot.

As long as the weather holds off, I'm good to go. It was supposed to be severe thunderstorms all day today. Instead, there isn't a cloud in the sky. Hopefully the bad stuff misses us. I'm a man, I can play in a little rain.

Storm came through last night, and I would guess we got 1.5 inches of rain.

I got to the course to warm up and the tournament director was just getting there to look at the course for the first time. They delayed it until 10:00, and now just delayed it again until 1:00.

I know rescheduling is the last thing they want to do, but I don't think the course will be playable today.

While Golf Channel is calling this Monday the Longest Day in Golf, I think my day today gives it a run for its money.

Pretty much waiting all day to go off. All tee times were pushed back 5 hours and they split tees, so I teed off at 1:10. I made it thru 17 holes. While getting ready to pull the trigger on 18, the horn blows. Nasty storm is rolling in. After waiting another hour, they inform us that the weather is not going to clear up all night, so we can't finish today.

This is where it gets fun ...

The course isn't available tomorrow (will probably be unplayable). They gave us three options. We could play at either of the two scheduled qualifiers in other cities, OR we can come back to the same course next Friday and they'll play it again. They'll adjust the amount of qualifiers based on the field size at each site.

I was pretty much at the course from 7:15 AM to 7:30 PM.

I was really happy with my ballstriking yesterday. Other than a few drives hung out to the right, I struck the ball beautifully. Maybe it was the heat or my ballstriking improving, but I was long with a lot of my shots. The course was tipped out to almost 7200 yards. Still, on the Par 4s my approaches were: PW, PW, 8i, 8i, GW, PW, 6i, PW, GW.

Now as good as my ballstriking was, my short game and putting was just as bad. I had 3 three-putts and 2 really bad chips from easy spots. I averaged 2.11 putts per green. Yikes. My speed was great. I read the greens awfully and had a few hard lip-outs on 5-6 foot putts.

EDIT: I was +10 thru 17. The best score I heard was +3. The course was playing tough with the rain and wind.

Pairings are set. I got a pretty good draw. Off at 8:50 with one of my good friends from law school and one of guys I played with last Friday.

I think my brother is going to come in town and loop for me. He knows ZERO about golf, but he really wants to, and it can't hurt.

Looks like the field got whittled down a little. It was originally at 38 and is now at 29. I'm guessing they take 17. Usually they'll take half, but they will adjust a little based on the talent in the field.

Getting much better, I think. Feeling more and more comfortable feeling "closed." My right wrist is extremely inflexible so I really have to feel it stretch.
I'm going to wait to video my swing until next week. Intercity tomorrow and qualifier on Friday. Not the time to be analyzing video.
