Eye2 becu shaft install loose... Fixed, thanks

Hey guys, I am installing some kbs tours in a set of ping eye2 becu irons. Looked up the specs and they showed a .355 tt shaft. Went to install, and these shafts sit VERY loose in the hosel. I pulled.355 tt graphites out of them.

They are so loose I doubt even shafting beads (which of course I'm out of) would level these out. They don't look to be bored out. Did they ever make an eye2 that took parallels?

Any suggestions/similar experiences?

Ping shafts fit real loose in the hosel. At the very bottom of the hosel the bore necks down to hold onto the tip of the shaft, but otherwise there is a lot of clearance. I've really struggled to keep my various Ping irons noise free; after some rounds the clubs make a creak/click noise from (presumably) head movement on the shaft. My most recent attempt to keep my clubs quiet included using fiberglass mesh drywall joint tape, two full wraps around the shaft tip to fill up the clearance gap, and then high strength 3M DP460 epoxy. I'm hopeful this will solve the problem. You might want to consider something similar. Home Depot and Lowe's (or similar) sell the tape for cheap.

Please help: I'm having the direct opposite problem... Trying to install a micro taper shaft in a BeCu lob wedge and I can't get the shaft in all the way.

Now what!?!?

Cut a few small slits in the bottom of the shaft. Similar to the old Callaway Big Bertha irons. The slits will allow the end of the shaft to pinch down and slide further into the hosel.

Clean all the epoxy in the bottom of the hosel. You may need to heat the head to soften the epoxy fully. You also need to slam the head down onto the shaft to get it fully seated. Watch this video (3:00 mark)...

Called up a reputable club fitter and he told me to mix in either some shafting beads or a very small portion of clean sand with the epoxy. Also, the hosel and shaft have to be 100% clean, because you have to seat the shaft by turning it grip down and hitting it straight down into the ground (not terribly hard, but if done right you'll see the shaft line up appropriately in the hosel.
Also, err on the side of too much epoxy, it will come out the top of the hosel, so wipe it down and you should be able to see a small ring of epoxy around the joint.

Make sure you let it dry very well, I let them dry club head up and completely vertical to keep the shaft centered. Hope this helps!
