Spin Milled vs CG10

Hello everyone !

 

Fairly new to this board but enjoying the information and specialized knowledge of it greatly. :busted_cop:

 

The time has come for me to change my good old 588 RTG 56° .

 

I have the opportunity to purchase the same 588 RTG brand new but I m considering maybe getting the newer alternatives.

 

What is everyone s opinion on the newer offering from cleveland and Titleist !

Worth the change or should I stick to what has always worked well.

Thank you for ur reply rgegolf exactly what I wanted to know.

 

I ve always used the 588 with great success and used this type of model since day one I started playing the game.

 

I think I m definitly gonna keep away from the spin milled as I feel that I m not overly spinning the ball but I m spinning it enough already as it is.

 

Concerning the CG10 I might try and demo it quickly but I m sure I m just gonna buy the 588 rtg and not bother , considering that I put a hold on the last one they have in my local shop today and supposed to pick it up tomorrow.

I think the Spin MIlled is sweet for a lob wedge, but I wouldn't want grooves that crazy on a Sand Wedge I don't think....

 

The 588 is still my favorite sand wedge, best ever. I have a Spin Milled Lob in the bag that I just bought last week, and so far so good. It does spin a lot, but man, I've made some sweet shots with it already.

Little review for those who might be interested.

 

I decided to demo the CG10 black pearl and was very impressed , this is a very good club and as mentioned before has a soft feel to it, and spins the ball plenty.

It is definitly wise to demo these wedges in order to select the right bounce suited for you as I for example found that the regular bounce seems to be higher than on my 588 rtg. The bounce is not signicantly different but would probably need some time to get used to it.

Personaly I believe that when choosing a 56° your best choice is either the standard or low bounce model.

 

Even though the 588 are now discontinued I believe that the CG10 are a good replacement to the previous line up as they seem, from my experience, to have very similar playing characteristics.

 

I m now planning on testing a spin milled lob wedge and add my review to this topic as the comparaison between different wedges seem to interest a few people.
