Btw, I saw Lake Wilderness mentioned above. Great deal for anyone looking for cheap golf. Their website has a deal for 2 for 1 twilight which is just after noon and the handful of times I've been out there it is usually pretty quiet.
Pretty easy to get on most any day, great bargain, and the course is playing really well. you won't find truer greens right now, if you do let me know where!

May 16th Washington National fairways in good shape......green speed is rolling 10-10.5 ...not perfectly smooth. some bump spots on putting roll.
May 14th Druids fairways in decent shape.......green was playing slow for some reason 8-8.5
May 10th Gold Mountain fairways are excellent shape......they did a pin size punch which blows air underneath. green was bumpy because of it and on the slow side 8-8.5
May 3rd Classic fairways in excellent shape.....green is rolling fast and smooth 11-12 maybe?

I like this thread. lets keep it going so we can look out for each other. i hate going to course and getting disappointed with a surprise.

How long is the course staying open? Isn't the city selling it?

Sumner was good today. And cheap!

Only problem was the rough was so thick, it left lots of grass clumps after mowing.

I hope Sumner Meadows doesn't close. It wouldn't surprise me, built on terrible land. But for a muni course in the Seattle area I've always thought they've done a really good job considering the land they're working with. The best junior rates and friendliest staff for a course of it's kind in the area.

Played Eaglemont the other day in Mt. Vernon. Wow, how have I not heard anything on this course? Truly amazing. Crazy elevation, interesting layout, and the best greens I've played in a long time/ever and this is in May. Looks a bit like Snoqualmie Ridge but maybe better? Haven't played Snoqualmie, only been to the Boeing Classic but thought there were some comparable holes where Eaglemont might be more interesting. Every hole was a fair challenge, maybe a couple par 4s were a little tricky to reach into the wind, but I played it from the black tees at 7,000 yards. First hole is awesome, 470 yard par 4 way downhill in front of a massive club house, bombed my drive, made par, set up for a great round. Typical rates are very affordable, I only had to pay for the mandatory cart with a pass from the Seattle Golf Show.

5/26 Salish Cliff ....wet fairway spots....played on rainy day though. there is none better greens anywhere. Tour caliber greens. smooth, true roll, and gorgeous. not lightning fast but i bet they could if they wanted to with couple rollings done to them. 10.5-11 on the stimp the day i played.

5/25 Gold Mt. fairways are good. greens are slow for GM standards. bit bumpy. still healing from air pump arification done to them couple weeks ago.

Played Mccormick Woods yesterday. Played from the tips, it was an overcast day with a lot of dew left over from some overnight or early am rain. It was playing long and slow. The greens were nice and smooth but felt slow rolling around 8 or 9. Overall course the course is manicured from tee to green with nicely mowed fairways and distinct cuts around the rough. Just wish they would roll the greens to firm them up a little.

Also have been invited out to Mill Creek CC a couple times in the past 2 weeks. If you have a chance to get out there it is a must right now. They just hosted the Snohomish County Am 2 weekends ago and the greens are pristine. They are rolling around 12 or 13 and the best I have seen all year in the state.

They hosted the city am. there this weekend. You will either get to experience the tournament conditions that they had (Long rough, firm & fast greens) or they may have softened up the course.. I can't be sure. Either way the course will be green and the greens will be nice despite some bumps.

Played Harbour Pointe last Saturday and it was in great shape. Greens seemed really inconsistent speedwise and were trampled by a tournament earlier that day, but the rest of the course was the best I've seen it in a long time. Dry and the sand was, get this, actual sand. I know, blew my mind too. There was one MASSIVE issue though. Some a**hole apparently decided to spin brodies on the 10th green and 75% of the putting surface is roped off. It's pretty appalling when you see it, but it's towards the back so try to land short up front and you should be fine.

On a side note, I'd forgotten how tough that course can be if/when your driver is misbehaving.

Played the home course for the first time yesterday. Course is AMAZING! great layout, perfect shape. Only complaint, they seem to be extremely organized and on top of slow play, but everyone there seems to play extremely slow. It could have just been the day, but people were also very friendly about us playing through without us pushing. Is this something to be concerned with on weekends here? Either way certainly found another course I have to play at least a couple times a year.

The Home Course marshals are over the top. I'v been out there on rainy Jan/Feb winter golf days and they are relentless. My group consists of usually golf biz employees that have handi's anywhere from a 1 - 12 and we all play fast. Even on powercarts they would be on us every other hole for pace of play.

We would look around and no one would even be within 3 holes of our group. A little over doing it in my opinion.

That being said it's a great track and top 5 in the state for sure for me. I've never experienced slow play there and find it odd because each hole is so spread out. Were there a lot of walkers that day?

The starter at the home course was loaded with info and was a little bit too much too take in right before you're about to tee off but my playing partner and I ended up bombing our drives, dead straight exactly where he said to go so maybe they weren't on us after that. There were a lot of walkers and I was in a cart which is unusual, usually I feel like I'm the only one walking. That may have caused us running into so many groups since the some of tee boxes are a stretch from the greens and we gained on people quite quickly that way. I'll probably walk it next time, had a free cart through golf now. But it just looked like people had a very nonchalant pace of play, maybe it was the weather! haha! But I certainly see you're point about marshalls. It seems like the courses that actually use marshalls often times over do it on the policing. It's one thing to be professional but let's remember who paid to enjoy themselves. Just a simple light presence of Marshalls does the trick.

Played Washington National - getting some roll on the fairways! You can tell that the course has been getting some play lately (due to the stretch of good weather), and some of the greens were a little bumpy by the pins. The sand in the bunkers was mostly good except for the fist size rock that I found a the bunker. How did that get in there? All in all pretty happy with my round though.
