Callaway's at Costco

I bought a box on Saturday afternoon. It just so happened I found a Hex Control while playing Saturday morning and I really liked it. It felt similar to the Hex Diablo's and NXT Tour's I've been gaming recently. Great price.

FWIW - I bought the three pack of Cally gloves too. I have a helluva time paying $15 for one glove. $15 for three, now that I can get my head around.

i always thought a non-eurothane cover would be durable...this took place after ONE shot with a sandwedge (this is the HX Hot Bite)
Any ball that peels apart like that is a ball that I wouldn't consider regardless of price. Just not worth it.

What kind of wedge you use for that shot? New grooves?

it was a TM rac tp 54 SW (old non-conforming grooves) with about a season of golf on it, which is well over 100 rounds for me

OK, I bought a 2-dozen box at my local Costco with some reasonable expectations, but it's a no-go. Distances seemed inconsistent off all clubs. There is little to no bite on approaches. Strangely, it seemed to drop out of the sky on drives. Durability-wise, I did not see actual cover shredding, but it seemed to scuff and scrape easily. I'll stick with the Nike ONE RZN (green) as my non-urethane ball of choice.

Recently bought a 24pk of Hex Controls. Were just 'meh' to me too. Feel-wise, somewhere between a QStar & Noodle Long & Soft, so at $15/dz about right price-wise. Of course, coulda been a bad day for me, but gonna stick with the e6 for now.

I am really interested to hear how the Hex Pro compare to their current Hex Chrome +/Hex Black. I played with the tour I(s) for a short time and liked it quite a bit. If it's similar to that I think it's definitely worth the investment.

I bought Callaway HEX pro golf balls at Costco for $26 for one dozen.
Available in white or yellow in single dozen ball box.
Could not find this same ball on the Callaway web site
What does this ball compare to ?
4-piece, dual core, single mantle, urethane cover. Basically a rebadged i(s) that is made to be sold exclusively at discount retailers like Costco and Sams.

The Costco in Concord Ca is selling Hex black tours for $25 a dz.

That's a pretty good price... I think they spin too much for me but a deal for anyone on this side of the bay... I'm a chrome fan... Was hoping the control ball was a disguised chrome,,,

If you ever see them out here, feel free to remember me. :)

I don't know if anybody is still looking at these balls but the Callaway Hex Pro are on sale at Costco until 8/17/14. I just ordered 4 dozens. They are $39.99 for 2 dozens. It says until supplies last so might be a good opportunity to stock up if you like these balls.

Quite a number of feedback on this thread don't specify whether their comments are about the Hex Control (3-piece from Costco) or Hex Pro (4-piece from Costco). I would love to hear about personal experiences with the Hex Pro.

FYI- The Hex Black Tour right now (10/4/14) was $20/dozen at my local Costco in Connecticut. I might have to pick a few up. I like the ball's performance a lot, even if the durability isn't quite the best.

I also like the way they putt more than the Penta. They just have a 'truer' feel to them for me. Not clicky, but not that muted 'tock' you get from a lot of urethane balls either. I feel I can hit these firmer and they seem to hold the line better. Must be a metal confidence thing from the feel and sound.

Spot on - exactly the same for me!!

The hex control ball is the hex chrome, the hex pro which costco no longer has available was the hex chrome+. I have played boxs and boxs of these balls along with multiple boxs of most of callaway's better balls including learning the game on the original callaway hots years ago. You would have to be just plain dumb to think that callaway designed a special ball to sell cheap at costco. I can guarantee you costco dictated to callaway what ball they wanted and the price point. I golf with one of the biggest produce suppliers to costco, my wife worked for costco for 15 years and we have shopped their since 1983. I assure of this, costco is relentless with its suppliers both in quality and value, talk to any manufacturer and you find that it is a privilage to get your product in to a costco. Check out a past episode of the sharks and what mr wonderfull said about about getting a product into costco and you will get my drift.

Sweet, I picked up a bunch of those at PGA SS in palo alto last year for about the same price. I'll have to go check out Costco
That was from a year ago, they might be sold out by now. :-)

In my profession Costco is my competitor. Costco has good products in most areas, but the are not the top of the line, when comparing the same product of the same company. You get what you pay for. You don't get a better price for a better golf ball. You get a costco price for a costco product made for costco.

The one thing about costco is their customer service is top notch in my book. Had a pressure washer that was given to me as a gift. Went down after 10 months so needed a receipt for warranty repair stopped by my local costco and not only were they able to provide a receipt but asked what had happened to item. Told them it had no pressure they instructed me to empty gas from it andcreturn it no questions asked.
