sweetspot?

I'm picking one up soon. I was just wondering since this is a heel shafted putter wouldn't the sweetspot be towards the heel a little. How does that affect the C Groove technology since they are in the middle of the face?

No, sweet spot should be in the centre of the putter. If you want to prove it to yourself, suspend the putter from a height by a string tied to the handle. when the putter hangs still, get a golf ball and tap the centry of the face with a golf ball. If you tap the sweet spot the putter will not twist it will move straight back and through.

Also as far as I know all C Grove putters are face balanced. This means that if you balance the putter on your finger, (along the shaft) the heel and toe of the putter will be level with the face pointing up. A lot of Scotty putters a toe heavy so if you do this the toe will point some way to the ground.

First of all....not all C Groove putters are face balanced. The Tracy II is toe down, the Callie is toe down, the Dianna is toe down and the Sophia like all other heel shafted "blade type" putters is toe down.

As for how the C Grooves affect the Sophia....they're in the sweet spot. Don't worry about them. The "new" blade's including the AC VII Napa, and Betti BB2 along with the Sophia I just so happen to have next to me at my desk all are shaped similarly on the rear flanges. They seem to have more weight taken from the heel of the flange instead of like some older 8802's and IMG5's which have more even flanges and heads. This allows the sweet spot to be more in the center of the face instead of towards the heel.
